BML Thursday: Palm Bay & Politicians Pandering

Is the sports world waking up? Maybe so. IN A HANDBASKET we’ll see a man banned from women’s competition because, well, he’s a man. I’ll take it as a good sign.

Politicians are notorious for being elitist. They just don’t have to play by the same rules as the rest of us. That may be changing. Chicago’s mayor has been caught in a huge inconsistency. Pot, let us introduce you to the kettle.

Politicians are also known to pander to all kinds of people and causes, it’s what they do. In Palm Bay the mayor is taking some heat for a recent award to a veteran. The veteran was convicted of military crimes. So, the mayor or his staff did not do their due diligence before the grandstanding move. That's not the big problem. The problem is the load of crap the politicians, not just the mayor, tried to feed us as they pander even more.

Red Flag Laws are all the rage. They're seen as an answer to America’s problem with violence brought by bad guys wielding firearms. Reality contradicts that, including the Independence Day shooting in Highland Park, IL.

Florida Today Engagement Editor John Torres is with us in hour three. We’ll talk the upcoming elections and what John has pending for the weekend.
