Monday: Lessons Learned and Not Learned

It seems Randy Fine has learned a lesson since we were last together. It seems Ron DeSantis went in the other direction. While Fine is apparently no longer trying to bully the president into a decision he was never going to make, the governor has made an appointment to the County Commission that has us revisiting a movie we wish we had never seen in the first place.

We’ll begin our day with the Chicago Teachers’ Union whose ambitions seem to have do more with political power than anything to do with educating kids. Likewise, the Democratic Socialists have a plan to fundamentally transform America into something quite Socialist…like having a Politburo.

NY Mayor Zohran Mamdani is maybe the country’s leading Democratic Socialist and he’s trying to run his own foreign policy against the interests of the United States and his own border policies. Tom Homan has something to say about that.

Cory Mills will stay on the ballot as he tries to retain his congressional seat, at least for now. The case trying to remove Mills from the primary was dismissed, but an appeal is forthcoming.

For its part, congress has some work in front of it.  Speaker Mike Johnson says the reconciliation bill will pass before the recess. Senate Majority Leader John Thune seemed caught off guard by the idea.

Our candidate interviews begin today and will continue through next week. Look for them on our podcast page and here at BillMick.com.
