The US at War

America woke up Saturday at war…with Iran. American and Israeli forces began pummeling the radical Islamic nation in a rare daytime attack. There’s a message in that. Like it or not, declared or not, we are at war. The question is, where does it go from here?

By now, you know the details. Where I’ll focus today is on HOW we at iHeart Radio were informed of the actions as the events played out-how breaking news is broken to us- and on YOUR reactions and observations to those events.

It’s not as if Iran did not have opportunities to avoid this latest event. They could have learned from last summer’s devastation of their nuclear sites, but did not. They had plenty of warning and were defiant in their stance. Now their ayatollah is dead, Iranians are celebrating in the streets and the future is not certain.

Iran responded by launching at other Islamic nations in the region in addition to American and Israeli targets. While they could. The US and Israel are in this to end it. I wish us success. But there are questions that linger. What number of terrorist cells are in place around the globe? Will Iranian citizens be ready to transform their government? Is the infrastructure in place to support such a change? There is a long way to go.

And what are the strategic implications for the future? Do terrorist attacks become more of a concern. Will Russia or China decide to engage? What happens in the Middle East?

We’ll see what you’re thinking and feeling as we explore America at war…today on BML.
