Let’s keep that in mind for our discussion this morning. Accurate reporting takes time and work on the ground to discern the facts.
My phone started blowing up as I was headed to meet my sister and niece for dinner before my grandson’s basketball game. An ICE Agent had shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis and the public was outraged (as if they weren’t already).
I had some time before my sister’s arrival so I went to the videos I could find. There was a problem. None of them showed what led up to the shooting incident. It was incomplete information. Given my law enforcement experience, I was being asked if I would have made the same decision. I couldn’t say. In the early stages of any such event it’s hard to make the call when vital information is missing.
In this case, and in many others across the country, whether this shooting was justified could be decided by a grand jury or a criminal trial. Public opinion may have already made its call. We’ll let you get it off your chest on today’s show.
