Gov. DeSantis Proposes Toll Relief

(Orlando, FL) --Governor Ron DeSantis is proposing toll relief for Florida residents. He made the suggestion during a recent Cabinet meeting. DeSantis suggested shifting more financial responsibility to out-of-state visitors. The Florida Director of Bond Finance agreed to look into the idea.

Brevard County Couple Awarded Millions In Medical Malpractice Lawsuit

(Brevard, FL) --Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne is going to have to pay a Brevard County couple millions. A jury decided one-week ago to award the family 27-million-dollars for medical malpractice. Attorneys say a then-58-year-old man wasn't properly evaluated after a 2018 spinal surgery, which led to a delay in returning to surgery.The man is now partially paralyzed.The defendants previously refused to settle. 

Woman Accused Of Killing Two Ex-Husbands In Tampa And Bradenton

(Bradenton, FL) --A woman is accused of killing two ex-husbands in separate shootings in Tampa and Bradenton. Authorities say Susan Avalon was arrested Wednesday night at her Citrus County home after she shot and killed a man who answered the door at his Bradenton home earlier that day. She is also a suspect in the deadly shooting of her second ex-husband in Hillsborough County earlier in the day. Avalon is currently in custody in Citrus County.

Broward Woman Accused Of Trafficking Teen With Autism

(Dania Beach, FL) -- Two women are facing charges in Broward County after investigators say a nineteen-year-old woman with autism was beaten and forced into prostitution. Deputies say Sianna Negron ran the operation, while her alleged accomplice, Shytavia Weaver, acted as an enforcer. The victim told investigators she was assaulted, threatened, and forced to have sex with multiple men while Negron took the money. Negron is being held on a 172-thousand, 500-dollar bond, while Weaver is jailed on an 85-thousand-dollar bond.

ICE Voodoo Doll Found In New Orleans Amid Illegal Immigration Roundup

(New Orleans, LA) -- Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill is reporting the discovery of a voodoo doll in New Orleans depicting an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent. The felt doll was found tied to a tree on Magazine Street in the Uptown area, where the ongoing federal roundup of illegal immigrants has led to protests. The doll wears clothes labeled ICE and has a lot of pins shoved into it. Murrill stated that it's a sign of desperation that "pro-illegal immigration radicals" are having to resort to voodoo dolls.
