Teen Arrested For School Threat In Brevard County

(Palm Bay, FL)-- A teenager is accused of threatening a shooting at a school in Brevard County. A 15-year-old Palm Bay boy was arrested yesterday. Palm Bay Police say he attends Melbourne's Stone Middle School, but the online threat was directed at West Melbourne's Central Middle School. He's charged with making written threats to conduct a mass shooting. Police are asking parents to be aware of their child's social media activities.

Year-Round Flight Restrictions Placed Around Mar-A-Lago

(West Palm Beach, FL)-- The FAA is taking steps to ensure President Trump's safety when he's in Palm Beach County. A round-the-clock, year-round air space restriction around Mar-a-Lago went into effect Monday. It'll be in effect even when the president isn't there.

New Florida Law On Tracking Devices

(Tallahassee, FL)-- A new Florida law puts harsher penalties on people who use tracking devices. Senate Bill 1168 makes it a second-degree offense to use a tracking device to commit a violent crime, like murder, assault, or rape. Another law that went into effect in 2024, Senate Bill 758, makes it a third-degree offense to use tracking devices without someone's consent. A Miami man was recently charged with installing a tracking device without consent under the new law.

Sea Otter Commandeers Surfer's Board

(Santa Cruz, CA)-- A mischievous sea otter is causing more trouble for surfers in Santa Cruz, California. Last week, an otter reportedly bit a surfer's foot before taking over her surfboard. Harbor patrol officers found the otter still perched on the board about 20 minutes later. The surfer was brought to shore safely, and lifeguards later retrieved the board. Officials say her skin wasn't punctured. The incident is reminiscent of 2023's "Otter 841," a tagged otter known for stealing surfboards in the same area. Authorities have not confirmed if this is the same animal.
