Seminole County Responds To State's Budget Analysis
(Sanford, FL) -- Seminole County is defending its spending habits. The county yesterday released a letter it sent last week to Florida CFO Blaise Ingoglia [[in-GO-lee-uh]]. Two weeks ago, he accused the county of overspending by 48 million dollars. County Commission Chairman Jay Zembower, though, writes Ingoglia's analysis presents an incomplete picture. Zembower says Ingoglia is overlooking state-imposed mandates, essential service demands and community-supported programs. Zembower asks Ingoglia to reconsider his conclusion that the county overspent its budget.
Town Hall Held In Orange County To Discuss Vaccine Mandates
(Orlando, FL) -- Eliminating vaccine mandates for school-age children is one lawmaker's greatest fear. That's what Democratic State Rep. Anna Eskamani said yesterday in Orlando. She was speaking at the Keeping Kids Safe town hall at the Beardall Senior Center. Eskamani tells WESH 2 she hosted the event to discuss vaccine mandates and combat misinformation. Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo was there. He says it's not up to him to tell parents what to put in their child's body.
Florida AG Issues Subpoenas To Gaming Company
(Tallahassee, FL)-- An online gaming company is accused of enabling child predators. Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced yesterday's he's issuing criminal subpoenas to Roblox. He says the platform has become a breeding ground for predators to gain access to our kids, and we will stop at nothing in the fight to protect Florida's children.
Kenny Loggins Objects To Trump Using Song In AI Video
(Undated) -- Kenny Loggins is demanding his song be removed from an AI video posted by President Trump over the weekend to troll protesters. The video depicts Trump wearing a crown, flying a jet and dumping what appears to be fecal matter on protesters while Loggins' "Danger Zone" plays in the background. In a statement, Loggins said nobody asked him permission for the song to be used and he would have denied the request had he been asked. He went on to demand the song be removed from the video immediately. Loggins added, "I can't imagine why anybody would want their music used or associated with something created with the sole purpose of dividing us."
