Former Brevard Teacher Banned From Volunteering
(Brevard Co., FL) -- The former Brevard teacher who was ousted for using a student's chosen name without parental consent is banned from volunteering at her former school district. Melissa Calhoun was cleared by the Department of Education to return to teaching on probation in July. Despite that, the district refused to rehire her. Brevard Public Schools did not respond to "Florida Today's" request for comment.
Ryan Routh Found Guilty Of Attempting To Assassinate Trump
(Fort Pierce, FL) -- The man charged with trying to assassinate President Trump at his Florida golf course has been found guilty. Ryan Routh [[ ruth ]] represented himself in court. Prosecutors presented evidence that he aimed a rifle at Trump last September before being confronted by a Secret Service agent. Routh pleaded not guilty to the charges and exercised his right not to testify in his defense.
