We’ll spend some time on media today. Particularly Disney/ABC and its entertainment and sports products from ABC & ESPN.
First, the ABC News reporter who was gushing over Charlie Kirk’s killer’s trans-romance has confirmed our observations yesterday: he could not extract the emotion from his reporting and regrets his lack of ability to do so.
Then, there’s Jimmy Kimmel being suspended from ABC due to outrage over his comments about Kirk’s slaying. This one’s touchy. It’s ABC’s decision to do what it must to salvage its reputation, but threats from the FCC Chairman add an element to this that should concern any constitution loving American.
Lastly on the media front is ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith. While there are rumbles about Smith running for office someday, even the presidency, he’s making comments regarding black voters and the Democratic Party that ring true. Given its history, I’m surprised ESPN hasn’t come down on him yet.
We still haven’t gotten to the expansion of the Kirk investigation by the FBI and what their probe may uncover.
There are also several Florida stories we have had on hold for a week now. We’ll see what we can cover on today’s show.
