Exorcism Linked To Boy's Murder

(Fort Pierce, FL) -- A South Florida mother is facing a second-degree murder charge in the disturbing death of her six-year-old son. Investigators in St. Lucie County say Rhonda Palynice performed an exorcism on her son because she says God told her to. Deputies found the boy's body after the school reported him absent for more than two weeks. They believe he'd been dead since May 18th.

Five BSO Deputies Punished After Deadly Triple Shooting

(Fort Lauderdale, FL) -- Five Broward County deputies are being punished for a deadly triple shooting. The Broward Deputy Sheriffs Association says they were placed on unpaid leave last week, and a trainee was fired. This comes after three people were shot to death in Tamarac four months ago. Nathan Gingles is accused of shooting his estranged wife, her father and a neighbor who tried to protect her. The BSO already fired a deputy after he was demoted from captain. Sheriff Gregory Tony says deputies had probable cause to arrest Gingles before the shooting. The union that represents the deputies says the discipline is premature as an internal investigation is still underway. 

Groveland Police Warn Of Arsenic Scam

(Groveland, FL) --Residents in Lake County should be aware of a possible scam. Groveland Police warned yesterday a vendor is going door-to-door claiming to offer mandatory arsenic testing. The GPD believes it's an attempt to get inside your home. Police say there are no state or city requirements for arsenic testing. They also warn not to let anyone into your home for this purpose, and you can call 911 in an emergency. 

Decapitated Animals Found In Pinellas County, Florida

(Clearwater, FL) --There's a mystery surrounding dead animals found in Florida's Pinellas County. The sheriff's office says it's investigating photos taken yesterday on Gandy Beach. They show at least 20 chickens and a goat that were decapitated. There's no word on who's responsible.

Businessman Killed By Lion At African Lodge

(Sesfontein, Namibia) -- A man staying at a luxury lodge in rural Namibia is dead, killed by a lion when he stepped outside his tent to use the bathroom. The victim was reportedly a well-known local businessman who was camping with his wife and friends. There are estimated to be less than 60 of the lions in the region.
