Man In Assassination Attempt Makes Court Appearance

(West Palm Beach, FL) -- The man who's accused of trying to assassinate President Donald Trump has made an appearance in a Florida courtroom. Ryan Routh is facing charges of attempted first-degree murder and terrorism. He allegedly pointed a rifle through a fence at Trump's West Palm Beach golf course last September. The charges are separate from the federal case brought by the Department of Justice.

BCPS Teacher Placed On Leave

(Titusville, FL)-- A Brevard County teacher facing criminal charges is on leave again. The district suspended Karly Anderson yesterday after a video came out Monday from her arrest in January. She's facing two misdemeanors, including disorderly conduct. Anderson was at a party in Cocoa Beach where underage kids were drinking. She was suspended as a teacher but then reinstated Monday and allowed to teach at another school before district officials saw the new body cam videos. The videos show her slurring her words and screaming at police officers. The superintendent says Anderson's actions as seen on the footage were completely unacceptable and warrant a further investigation.

St. Pete Police Officer Arrested

(St. Petersburg, FL)-- A police officer finds himself on the wrong side of the law. St. Petersburg Police Officer Brandon Klaiber was arrested yesterday for allegedly sharing confidential information with a suspect last year. The SPPD says he shared information from law enforcement databases with a man accused of planting explosive devices at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Tampa. Klaiber is charged with a third-degree felony, and he's on unpaid leave. He has been with the department for over 16 years.

Key West Officials Indicted

(Key West, FL)-- Three Key West officials are facing criminal charges. The Monroe County State Attorney's Office says indictments were handed down yesterday to the city attorney, code compliance director and building department director. The three are accused of obstructing an investigation into the firing of the city manager. The state attorney and the FBI started investigating after Al Childress was fired without cause last year. State Attorney Dennis Ward says when public servants interfere with investigations or misuse their access, they betray the very community they are sworn to serve.

"Home Alone 2" Director Wants Trump's Cameo Removed

(New York, NY)-- The director of "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" says he wishes he could remove President Trump's cameo from the film. In an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, Chris Columbus said Trump's short role has become a curse and an albatross for him. Columbus said he can't cut the scene and if he did, he would be sent out of the country. The director said he would be seen as not fit to live in the U.S. and would be sent to "Italy or something." Trump appears in the film when Kevin McCallister played by Macaulay Culkin runs into him at the Plaza Hotel and asks for directions.

NASA Asking Public To Help With Mascot For Artemis II

(Orlando, FL) -- NASA is looking for a mascot design to represent a crewed mission to the moon. Artemis Two travels to the moon next year with human beings on board for the first time since the 1970s. The uncrewed Artemis One mission in 2022 held a plush Snoopy as the zero-gravity indicator inside the Orion capsule. NASA wants to do something similar for next year's mission and wants the public to design its mascot. The winning design has a chance to win a cash prize over 12-hundred-dollars.
