Trump Names Dan Newlin as Ambassador to Colombia 

(Washington, D.C.) --President-elect Trump announced via Truth Social that Dan Newlin will be the next U.S. Ambassador to Colombia. Newlin, a former Orange County Sheriff's detective and founder of Dan Newlin Injury Attorneys, brings decades of law enforcement and business experience. Trump praised Newlin's investigative skills and ability to address international issues, emphasizing his potential to strengthen U.S.-Colombian relations. Newlin is expected to focus on fostering economic partnerships and advocating for U.S. interests. 

Luxury Real Estate Figures Charged with Sex Trafficking 

(Miami Beach, FL)-- Three wealthy brothers tied to Miami Beach and New York real estate were arrested Wednesday on sex trafficking charges. Tal, Oren, and Alon Alexander are accused of drugging, assaulting, and exploiting dozens of women over more than a decade. Prosecutors allege they used their wealth and influence to carry out these crimes in luxury settings. They face multiple federal and state charges, including trafficking by force and coercion. 

Miramar Police Officer Arrested on Charges Involving Minor 

(Miramar, FL) -- A Miramar police officer has been arrested on charges involving sexual acts with a minor. Thirty-seven-year-old George Frederick Richardson faces multiple charges and is being held on a 25-thousand-dollar bond. Chief Delrich L. Moss condemned the alleged actions and pledged support for the victim, calling the breach of trust unacceptable. Richardson has been relieved of duty pending the investigation.

Fisherman Catches Great White Shark On Amelia Island

(Amelia Island, FL)-- A fisherman on Amelia Island caught the catch of a lifetime. Alberto Vanegas reeled in a great white shark. The U.S. Navy retiree posted a message on social media, which reads in part, "I am honored and blessed to have caught the first great white shark that was caught from the beach on the east coast of Florida." The shark was safely released back into the ocean.

Man Charged With Threatening Person With Molotov Cocktail, Sword In Cape Coral

(Cape Coral, FL)-- A man is accused of threatening a person with a Molotov Cocktail and sword in Cape Coral. Police responded to a disturbance this past Sunday near the 28-hundred block of Southeast 8th Ave. A person stated that Luis Vargas Izquierdo threatened him with what he claimed was a Molotov Cocktail. He threatened to throw it at one of the vehicles in the driveway and light it on fire.Vargas Izquierdo also pulled out a sword and threatened the victim. The suspect claimed he showed up to the home to send a message over someone disrespecting a family member. Vargas Izquierdo was arrested and taken to the Lee County Jail on multiple charges, including arson.

New Washington Apple Named

(Pullman, WA) -- A new type of apple created at Washington State University now has a name. It was called Washington 64. It's a hybrid between Honeycrisp and Pink Lady apples. It'll be called Sunflare and comes from public suggestions. It's the third apple to be created through Washington State University's Breeding Program following the release of Cosmic Crisp in 2019. It'll take five years to grow enough trees to send the apples to market.
