The election of President Trump has impact on many things including the politics of Florida. With three appointments of Florida members of congress to the Trump administration, we’ll have a Senate appointment and two House special elections to deal with. Those could be impacted by new Florida law regarding mail-in ballots. There are also implications for the 2026 Florida gubernatorial election.
The mental gymnastics after the election are interesting to watch. Some on the left don’t get it, but there are some who are frustratingly talking to their own about returning to reality. That does not appear to be easy.
The Matt Gaetz appointment as Attorney General is making stoners happy. But will the House Ethics report be released, and what’s the problem if it is? Some Republicans are worried. Maybe more should be. Senate Majority Leader John Thune says the Trump agenda is a go.
