Missing Child Alert Issued For Brevard County Boy

(Cocoa, FL) -- A Brevard County boy is the subject of a Missing Child Alert. The FDLE issued the alert yesterday for Cocoa's Jarius Murray. The 11-year-old was last seen on G Street wearing a black tracksuit. He also has a blue cast on his left arm. Jarius may be carrying a black backpack and a teddy bear. He's described as Black, with black hair, brown eyes, 4-foot-2 and 70 pounds. You can see a photo at FDLE.State.FL.us. 

Proposed Changes Meant To Enhance Florida's Space Coast

(Cape Canaveral, FL) -- A plan is in the works to enhance Florida's Space Coast. State aerospace leaders have outlined a roughly 100-million-dollar proposal for six projects meant to benefit launches in Cape Canaveral. Some of the improvements would include upgrades to the area's wastewater treatment facilities, revamped electrical infrastructure, and a Port Canaveral expansion. If approved, crews would also replace a NASA-owned bridge connecting the Kennedy Space Station and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The goal is to increase the number of launches from Brevard County. As of right now, the region has already broken its previous record set last year with nearly 80 launches.

State Attorney Bain Reviewing Kissimmee Police Internal Investigations

(Orlando, FL) -- Some internal investigations by Kissimmee Police are getting a second look. Channel 9 reported yesterday that State Attorney Andrew Bain is reviewing previous cases involving 15 KPD officers. Eleven of the officers were accused of using excessive or unnecessary force. Former Police Chief Betty Holland informed Bain before she resigned that several cases were never reported to his office even though the officers violated policy. Some of the cases date back nine years.       

Man Arrested After He's Found Hiding In Storage Closet

(Orlando, FL) -- A man is facing charges after he was found hiding in an attic in Orlando. Orlando Police announced yesterday that Carlos Oguis was arrested over a week ago at an apartment complex near Augusta National Drive and Bent Pine Drive. OPD officers responded to a report of a suspicious person inside a locked storage closet at the complex. A maintenance worker told officers he heard strange noises coming from the attic. Officers deployed two irritants, Oguis started moving around and his foot wound up breaking through the ceiling. Officers ordered him to come down from the attic, and he complied. The 25-year-old was taken into custody. He's charged with burglary, trespass in a structure and criminal mischief.

Storms Cause Poinsettia Shortage

(Bradenton, FL)-- The recent hurricanes may make it hard to find a popular Christmas decoration. Hurricanes Helene and Milton have hurt the local poinsettia crop this holiday season. Orban's Nursery in Manatee County is one of those dealing with a poinsettia shortage. Tyler Orban says the loss is devastating. He estimates about 200-thousand plants were destroyed. Orban tells 10 Tampa Bay it'll hurt, but they're going to do their best to be back next year. In the meantime, Tyler's brother, Remy, has started a GoFundMe page to help him recover. So far, over 200 people have donated over 23-thousand dollars.         

New College Of Florida Offering Class In Wokeness

(Sarasota, FL)-- A comedian will be teaching a class on wokeness at New College of Florida. Comedian and conservative commentator Dr. Andrew Doyle will lead a course called The Woke Movement at the Sarasota school. New College of Florida describes Doyle as a scholar of English Literature and a cultural icon with large followings in the UK and US. The course is being offered as a one-month independent study. According to the curriculum, The Woke Movement is a kind of cult that's essentially illiberal and consists of the most dehumanizing behavior. The Tampa Bay Times reports the course will be offered in January. 

Royal Caribbean Will Continue To Stop In Haiti

(Miami, FL) -- Recent violence won't change Royal Caribbean's plans to stop in Haiti. The Miami-based cruise line announced yesterday it'll continue to bring passengers to its private day resort in Labadee, on the country's north coast. This comes after gunshots hit a plane from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport that was about to land in Port au Prince on Monday. Labadee is about a six-hour drive from Port au Prince. Royal Caribbean says the safety and security of our guests, crew and communities we visit are our top priority.

Memphis Mayor Wants To Use AI To Combat Crime

(Memphis, TN) -- Mayor Paul Young is working on a way to reduce violence around Memphis. The mayor shared his administration's plan during last month's town hall that includes the installation of a 15-million-dollar citywide camera network. The technology would use artificial intelligence to quickly identify potential crime, like car break-ins.
