(Washington, DC)-- FEMA says it has removed an employee who was telling a disaster relief team in Florida to skip houses that had Trump signs. The incident reportedly happened last month in the Lake Placid area in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, and that at least 20 homes in the area had been skipped because there were Trump signs in the front yard. A FEMA spokesperson told CNN that the agency is "deeply disturbed by this employee's actions" and the employee "had no authority" to tell teams to avoid those homes.
Rep. Moskowitz Says Man Plotted To Kill Him
(Margate, FL) -- Florida Democratic Congressman Jared Moskowitz says he was informed he was the target of an assassination plot. The 23rd District representative says police in Margate told him a man with a rifle and body armor was arrested not far from his home. He says this happened Monday, the day before the election. Moskowitz posted on X the suspect had a manifesto that included anti-Semitic rhetoric and only the congressman's name on the "target" list. So far, there's no comment from the Margate Police Department.
California Man Accused Of Trespassing On Mar-a-Lago
(Palm Beach, FL)-- A California man is accused of trying to breach the security at president-elect Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate. Police say the 39-year-old Los Angeles resident, who is originally from China, has attempted to enter Mar-a-Lago several times because he wanted to speak with Trump. The most recent incident happened Thursday after officers say he tried to trespass at the Palm Beach property. A report shows the suspect had driven up to the Mar-a-Lago checkpoint at least four times before. He appeared in court on Friday and was given a 100-thousand-dollar bond. Palm Beach County police and the Secret Service have increased their security measures in the area since the first of two assassination attempts on Trump.
2 Women In Custody For Alleged Roles In Fatal Shooting Of Sanford Photographer
(Sanford, FL) -- Two women are facing charges after they allegedly shot and killed a photographer they'd hired last week in Sanford. Police say 31-year-old Lakevia Davonna Pringle and 35-year-old Savon Chanty Tyler were arrested on Friday for their alleged roles in the death of 34-year-old Lauren Ashley Martin. Police say the beef stemmed from some photos Martin had taken of Tyler. Prosecutors say Tyler and Pringle were both charged with first-degree murder.
Gas Theft Suspects Arrested In Volusia County
(DeLand, FL) -- Two men are accused of stealing gas in Seminole County. The Volusia County Sheriff's Office announced yesterday deputies arrested the men Saturday. Deputies got a tip from Seminole County, and the men were spotted in a minivan in the Deltona area. Deputies say the minivan was parked over the fuel port of a Racetrac gas station for about 15 minutes. Deputies followed the minivan to a nearby Waffle House. The driver ran but was caught after a short foot chase. He's a 33-year-old Miami-Dade County resident. Deputies say a large auxiliary fuel tank was found in the minivan, and the minivan was altered so they could steal gas without being detected. A second suspect was found in another minivan in DeBary. He's Orlando 35-year-old Jose Garcia Aguila. Deputies say the men are each charged with theft and unlawful conveyance of fuel.
Four Rescued By Disney Cruise Ship Near Port Canaveral
(Port Canaveral, FL)-- Four people are safe thanks to a Disney cruise ship. Disney says four stranded boaters were rescued yesterday morning by one of their ships on its way to Port Canaveral. The Disney Treasure was off Bermuda when it got a distress call from a 50-foot catamaran and responded from about 80 miles away. The cruise ship's captain says crew members worked together and skillfully demonstrated their training and commitment to safety.

Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Arrives In Manhattan
(New York, NY) -- The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is being put up today in midtown Manhattan. The 74-foot-tall Norway spruce arrived on a flatbed truck early Saturday morning after making the 140 mile journey from West Stockbridge, Massachusetts. The huge tree will be decorated with 50-thousand lights that will be turned on during the annual tree lighting ceremony on December 4th.
