Moody Warns Of New Cyber Scam Impacting Floridians
(Tallahassee, FL) --Attorney General Ashley Moody is warning Floridians about a new cyber scam. The so-called evil twin schemes are when hackers create a fake WiFi network that resembles the names of airports or businesses. The tactic is meant to try to trick users into connecting with the network, so scammers can steal their personal information. Moody says hackers are also creating fraudulent mobile apps designed to look like popular ones. She is urging residents to do their research before downloading anything onto their devices. Potential victims can file reports through the FDLE's Computer Crime Center.
Former Disney Employee Accused Of Hacking Menu Software
(Orlando, FL) --A former Disney World employee is accused of hacking menu software to falsely show some items did not contain peanuts. Winter Garden's Michael Scheuer was arrested last week after an FBI investigation. The agency alleges he hacked the menu creation software several times in about a three-month span. Prosecutors say he did more than just change the dietary info, though. Scheuer is also accused of changing the prices, adding swear words and changing QR codes to direct users to non-Disney websites. These alleged breaches happened after Disney fired him in June as menu production manager. His lawyer says no one was injured or harmed by any menu alterations, and he looks forward to vigorously presenting his client's side of the story. Scheuer is due in federal court on Tuesday.
State Lawmaker Says There'll Be No State Bailout For Condo Owners

The workshop was called to address concerns condo owners have about high assessment fees. A lot of owners can't afford to pay the assessments, and the assessments are also making it hard to find someone who wants to buy their units. Pizzo understands their predicament, but he told them 'there's no state bailout coming.'
Pinellas County Man Wins On Wheel Of Fortune
(Pinellas Park, FL) -- A Pinellas County man is getting a European vacation thanks to a popular game show. Pinellas Park's Ryan Burkett was on last night's episode of Wheel of Fortune, and he won a trip to Portugal and over 100-thousand dollars. The funny thing is, he forgot he applied to be on the show, and when he got an email inviting him to a Zoom audition he thought it was spam. Burkett told host Ryan Seacrest he decided to follow through, anyway, because he thought 'what's the worst that could happen?'
