DeSantis Continues To Push Back Against Amendment 4

(Jacksonville, FL) -- Governor Ron DeSantis believes Florida will become a major abortion tourist destination if Amendment 4 passes. DeSantis was at a Jacksonville church yesterday to continue his push against the measure that would impact abortion.He says approval of the amendment would lead to 40-thousand abortions each year in the state, bringing in people from other states with stricter policies. More than 60-percent of voters would need to vote "yes" in order for Amendment 4 to pass. Recent polls are expecting the vote to be close. 

Florida First Lady And Polk County Sheriff Speak Out Against Amendment 3

(Bartow, FL) -- Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis is speaking out against Amendment 3. Yesterday DeSantis was joined by Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd during a press conference in Bartow to encourage voters to reject the amendment which would legalize recreational marijuana use in the state. DeSantis said "packaging potent THC in brownies, gummies, and lollipops" could put children at risk. Judd noted that the state is experiencing an all-time low crime rate and he says he doesn't believe legalizing recreational marijuana would help regulate drug-related crimes.

Vanderbilt University to Open Graduate Campus in West Palm Beach

(West Palm Beach, FL)-- Vanderbilt University will open a graduate campus in downtown West Palm Beach, focusing on business, AI, and data science. The county commission approved the plan Tuesday, projecting a seven-billion-dollar economic impact in the first 25 years. Despite some concerns over taxpayer funding, supporters view the project as a major investment in the region's future. Classes are set to begin in 2026.

MLB Hopeful Rays Can Continue To Play In Tampa Bay Area

(Tampa, FL) -- Major League Baseball is hopeful the Rays can continue to play in the Tampa Bay area after Tropicana Field was damaged by Hurricane Milton. While appearing on The Varsity podcast earlier this week, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said they would prefer to keep the team in the area. That includes finding an interim home and/or repairing the Trop. Decisions will follow official evaluations of the damage.

World Series Tickets Trending Above $1,200

(Los Angeles, CA)-- Tickets to the first Dodgers-Yankees World Series in over four decades won't be cheap. Ticket website SeatGeek says the cheapest ticket for Friday's Game 1 at Dodger Stadium will be around at least 12-hundred dollars. And don't expect prices to be any cheaper for Saturday's Game 2. The series shifts to New York for Game 3 on Monday and tickets - if you can get them - will cost you even more.

CA Has Seized Over $70M In Illegal Cannabis Since July

(Sacramento, CA)-- California has seized more than 70-million dollars worth of illegal cannabis in the last three months. That's according to recent numbers from Governor Gavin Newsom's office. The state's Unified Cannabis Enforcement Task Force has seized over 190-million dollars worth of illegal cannabis across more than a dozen counties since the beginning of the year. In a statement, Newsom said California is continuing the charge in cracking down on the illicit cannabis market to help protect consumers and support the legal cannabis industry.
