Dave Bowman is with us for the day. He’s having quite the experience in his return to college. We’ll focus a bit on education today. As you know, Dave’s a historian and a darn good one. Colleges these days are concerned with not triggering students. Dave is now one of the triggered. You’d think this is of utmost concern for Arizona State. We’ll discuss.
Governor DeSantis knows his history, when it comes to hurricanes, anyway. Recently a reporter tried to play climate politics with the governor over Hurricane Milton. The governor came to the discussion well versed and the reporter got his education very publicly.
A first grade teacher, with no notice, no opt-out and with backing from her administration, tried her best to confuse her students and instruct them that their parents guessed about their gender and may have been wrong. The books she used in the instruction supported the view and the parents sued. That the administration backed this teacher is shocking and affirms why we need groups like Moms for Liberty watching what happens in our schools.
Penn, the university that brought us atrocities like Leah Thomas and anti-Israel protests and demands, has lost a major donor. Israel stands to benefit. The value of an American education has been devalued by the universities themselves and Dave has a tale of his own in that regard.
Then, with Dave Does History we’ll time travel to WWI and the tale of Mati Hari. It seems to me that our historian could teach Arizona State a thing or two.
