We hope all is well for you and yours after our encounter with Milton over the last couple of days. It was good to see folks actually heeding the warnings about the storm and evacuating where necessary. AccuWeather, particularly Heather Zehr, was very helpful in providing us the hows and wherefores of this major storm. I appreciate their efforts on our behalf.
We’ll get back to more of our usual routine for today’s show, but Milton will still play a role.
Kamala Harris, after playing politics with Ron DeSantis, was not content to learn the lesson of her ill-thought-out attack and tried to be Ron DeSantis with her own Hurricane Milton press conference. Her competence in the arena, or lack thereof, was glaring.
For his part, Governor DeSantis’ performance during Milton was stellar. So was what he did before the storm and second amendment advocates have reason to cheer. Let’s hope it sets a path for the 2025 legislative session.
In the midst of Milton, the League of Women Vipers pulled its own political stunt. The Vipers wanted to force the state to extend voter registration for the general election, citing the storm as the reason. Never let a good tragedy go to waste- and they try to claim non-partisanship.
The lefts line, or lines, of thinking show us something. While claiming to be anti-violent, how they would treat dissenters is telling. And while they certainly don’t mind media- even entertainment- taking its shots at President Trump, when SNL has its way with President Biden or Kamala Harris, it’s suddenly a problem.
Let’s get this Friday moving!
