…Local Coverage- 6am-12p or later
As expected, Hurricane Milton ravaged parts of Florida as it made its way from the Gulf Coast to our shores. As we go to local coverage, Milton is expected to move off our coast around sunrise
Bill Mick and Ken Holiday begin our local coverage at 6am as the impact to the Space Coast continues. Our friends at AccuWeather will update us throughout the day as we get their assessment, what we know of impact to our area and take your reports of conditions in your neighborhood. We’ll stay local until at least noon and make the call to shift back to the statewide team as conditions warrant.
Remember, post-storm can be an extremely dangerous time. Flooding, downed power lines and debris present hazards to traveling or even walking your neighborhood. Displaced wildlife can be dangerous for pets, children and adults. Water and other utilities may not be serviceable.
With power outages, traffic lights may not be operational. If traffic lights are dark, treat those intersections as 4-way stops. Flashing yellow lights mean proceed with caution and a flashing red light means you must stop, yielding to other traffic, before proceeding.
If you lose power, you can always keep up with us using the LISTEN LIVE option on our web site, or with WMMB on the iHeart Radio App on your mobile device. You can update us on conditions in your area by using the TalkBack feature on the app.
