Routh Appears In Court
(West Palm Beach, FL)-- The man accused of trying kill Donald Trump is staying silent. Ryan Routh was in court yesterday in Palm Beach County after he was arrested Sunday in Martin County. The 58-year-old was allegedly planning to shoot Trump as the former president played golf at Trump International Golf Club. Routh did not enter a plea yesterday and did not explain his alleged actions. He's due back in court next Monday for a bond hearing. Routh's arraignment was set for September 30th. At this point, Routh is charged with possessing a gun with a scratched off serial number and possession of a gun by a convicted felon.
Central Florida Child Arrested After Mass Shooting Threat
(Port Orange, FL) -- An eleven-year-old is accused of threatening to conduct a mass shooting at a Central Florida school. Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood says a student at Creekside Middle in Port Orange made a list of names in connection to the threat. After his arrest, police found a stockpile of weapons, including airsoft rifles, pistols, knives, and swords. Starting today, Chitwood says he will launch a new tactic designed to hold parents and students accountable for school threats. He plans to release names and photos of anyone accused in these types of felonies.
Two Teens Arrested For Shooting Outside Brevard County School
(Titusville, FL)-- Two teenagers are facing charges after a shooting near a school in Brevard County. It happened Thursday near Melbourne near Johnson Middle School. The sheriff's office says a 14-year-old had a gun in his waistband, and a 17-year-old took it from him and fired the gun into the air. One person was hurt as people ran for safety. Deputies took the teens into custody. Neither is a BPS student. Investigators tell Channel 9 the gun was stolen in Palm Bay.
BPS School Bus Driver Arrested For Incident With Student
(Melbourne, FL)-- A school bus driver is facing charges after an incident with a student in Brevard County. Melbourne Police arrested Palm Bay's William Green yesterday. The 59-year-old allegedly pushed a 12-year-old student into a seat on the bus and put his hands around the boy's neck. The MPD says there are witnesses and surveillance video. Green is charged with child abuse without great bodily harm. He's due in court today.
Sheriff's Social Media Post Raising Eyebrows
(Portage County, OH)-- A recent social media post by a local sheriff in Ohio is getting a lot of attention. Portage County Sheriff Bruce Zuchowski posted on his Facebook page on Friday night that residents need to write down the addresses of those who have Kamala Harris signs in their yard, so that if she wins the Presidential race, they'll know where residents who support illegal immigrants live. The sheriff's office has not commented on the matter. It is unclear at this time if the post violates any elections laws or ethics codes.
