BML Friday- Message Delivered

We’re in the communications business. Everybody is. Without communication nothing gets accomplished. Communication is faster than it’s ever been. It’s nearly instant. You’d think that’s good, but is it? I guess it depends. In an emergency, sure. But when the message is important, a quick review before hitting send could make a lot of difference. I got one yesterday that in the moment ticked me off. Maybe that was the intent. If it wasn’t, one politician has a very poor communications team. Many of them do.

Miami-Dade cops are facing threats after they Tyreek Hill incident on Sunday. Hill’s handled it far better than others are. And we wonder why police departments can’t recruit enough cops.

Brevard schools, like others across the state, have been on the receiving end of threats of violence. They appear to be copy cat events or trying to raise alarm after the Georgia school shooting.

Florida’s congressional maps are headed to the state Supreme Court. Previous maps had carved out overly large districts to enable black candidates to be elected. The court will decide the validity of our newest redistricting law.

New York City has passed a reparations law that is intended to make up for the city’s history of slave ownership, trade and racism. Not everyone is happy in a city that can’t control its rat issues and other problems.
