Florida CFO Issues Protections For Policyholders
(Tallahassee, FL) --Florida's chief financial officer is enhancing protections for insurance policyholders following Hurricane Debby. Jimmy Patronis issued an emergency order yesterday to prevent vulnerable residents from getting into bad or fake contracts. The CFO says so-called claims representatives will swoop into a storm-impacted area and try to come between customers and their insurance policy. Among several changes, the order will require representatives to identify themselves and how they work before signing a contract with a policyholder. Patronis is hoping the latest effort will put residents more in control of their claims and stop door-to-door scams.
Motorcycle Gang Members Arrested In Brevard County
(Titusville, FL)-- Four men are facing charges for a brawl involving two motorcycle gangs in Brevard County. Titusville Police announced yesterday four men were arrested for a fight last month at South Washington Ave and Cheney Highway. The brawl involved three members of the Mongols and a member of the Warlocks. Police say a Warlock member fired his gun when three Mongols surrounded him. No injuries were reported.
Drug Dealer Convicted For Buyer's Death
(Tampa, FL) -- A drug dealer will spend the rest of his life in prison for a buyer's death in Hillsborough County. A jury yesterday found Anthony Mansfield guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Que Talley. The 27-year-old Talley bought drugs that were laced with fentanyl from Mansfield last year and died after overdosing. The Tampa Bay Times reports after the jury announced its verdict, the judge sentenced the 47-year-old Mansfield to life without parole.
First Trailer For "Saturday Night" Released
(Los Angeles, CA)-- The first trailer for the movie based on Saturday Night Live is out now. "Saturday Night" will tell the story about the 90 minutes leading up to first-ever SNL broadcast. "The Fablemans" breakout star Gabriel LaBelle will play SNL executive producer Lorne Michaels. The cast also features Willem Dafoe, J.K. Simmons, Jon Batiste and Finn Wolfhard. "Saturday Night" will hit theaters October 11th.
