Scott Wants Secret Service Director To Resign

(Washington, DC)-- Rick Scott wants the head of the Secret Service to step down. Senator Scott released a statement yesterday that calls on Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to resign as soon as today.He says it's unacceptable that we still don't have answers on the assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Scott writes the American people deserve answers, and the leadership at the Secret Service clearly failed.

Man Accused Of Trying To Kill HillsCo Deputy

(Tampa, FL) -- A man is accused of trying to kill a deputy in Hillsborough County. The sheriff's office announced yesterday that William Lewis, Jr. is charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer. Lewis allegedly hit a deputy with his car two weeks ago.  Lewis' mom was arrested yesterday for allegedly helping her son after he hit the deputy and fled the scene. She's charged with being an accessory after the fact. Sheriff Chad Chronister says the mother's involvement is deeply troubling. He also says the deputy who was hurt in the incident continues to work hard toward a full recovery.

FAA Investigating Rapid Plane Descent At TPA

(Tampa, FL) -- The FAA is investigating a scary incident on a flight to Tampa. A Southwest Airlines flight rapidly descended last week near Tampa International Airport. The FAA says the plane dropped over 15-hundred feet in a little over a minute. The plane wound up coming just 150 feet from the bay. Once air traffic control told the pilot they were too low, the plane ascended by about a thousand feet. No injuries were reported. Southwest Airlines say it's in contact with the FAA to understand and address any irregularities.

Two Grizzly Bears Get Into Zoo's Restricted Area

(Royal Oak, MI)-- Detroit Zoo officials say two grizzly bears somehow got into a restricted area. The bears made their way into the animal care area early on Saturday. Officials say no one was injured and zoo visitors were never in danger.  Zoo staff worked to quickly manage the situation following all safety protocols to keep both humans and bears safe. The animals are now back in their own habitat. The incident is under investigation.
