Florida Board Of Education To Vote On High School NIL Changes
(Orlando, FL) -- The Florida Board of Education is expected to vote on whether high school student-athletes could financially benefit from endorsement deals next week. Officials are scheduled to take up a Name, Image, and Likeness rule change that was approved by the state High School Athletic Association last month. Under the measure, student-athletes and their caregivers would be able to negotiate NIL contracts independent of their schools. They could also hire a registered agent to help with the process. The state board of education is set to consider the proposal while meeting in Orlando next Wednesday.
UF President Sasse Announces Resignation
(Gainesville, FL)-- University of Florida President Ben Sasse announced yesterday he's resigning due to his wife's health. He says she has been diagnosed with epilepsy and has been struggling with a new batch of memory issues. Sasse says Gator Nation needs a president who can keep charging hard, his wife deserves a husband who can pull his weight, and his kids need a dad who can be home many more nights. Sasse's resignation will take effect at the end of the month, but he says he'll continue to work as a professor. Sasse has been UF president for two years.
Scott Asks Biden For Transparency In Trump Shooting
(Washington, DC)-- Rick Scott is asking the president to answer questions about the attempt on Donald Trump's life. Senator Scott sent a letter to President Biden yesterday. Scott says he's demanding Biden and Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle provide answers, transparency and accountability amid the investigation into the shooting. In the letter, Scott writes when there is a lack of transparency, people naturally assume the worst.

Teen Arrested, Accused Of Stealing Trump Campaign Vehicle
(Milwaukee, WI)-- A teenager is facing charges for allegedly stealing a Trump campaign vehicle in Milwaukee. Officers were dispatched to a hotel last Saturday for reports of a masked person forcing open a valet key box. Police say 17-year-old Charles Lucas took the keys to a car assigned to a Trump Campaign Advance Team member. The car was later found in a Walmart parking lot, and the teen was found inside the store. He'll be in court again on July 23.
