Ammo Vending Machines Could Go Up In Florida
(Tampa, FL) -- Florida gun owners could soon get their ammunition at their local grocery store. The CEO of American Rounds LLC, Grant Magers, is hoping to install its first Automated Ammon Retail Machine in the Sunshine State in the near future. The Dallas-based company told Tampa's News Channel 8 that its equipment uses artificial intelligence and facial recognition software to verify customers before they can purchase ammo. The machines weigh up to two-thousand pounds. They are currently only located in eight supermarkets in Alabama, Oklahoma, and Texas. Magers says the company has received more than two-hundred requests for the equipment for stores across nine states.
Congressman Frost Supports Effort To Impeach SCOTUS Judges
(Washington, DC)-- A Central Florida congressman is backing an effort to impeach two Supreme Court justices. Tenth District Democrat Maxwell Frost announced his support yesterday for articles of impeachment against Justices Clarence Thomas and Sam Alito. The articles were drafted by New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She cites what she calls Thomas and Alito's repeated failures over decades to disclose that they received millions of dollars in gifts from individuals with business before the court. Frost writes on X the Supreme Court is a right-wing, politically corrupt branch of government operating with no oversight. He adds Americans deserve a fair, impartial court, not justices who are bought and paid for by billionaires and special interests.
Over Three Thousand Pounds Of Trash Removed From Homeless Camp In Brevard County
(Melbourne, FL)-- A city in Brevard County is taking steps to stop the homeless from living under a bridge. Melbourne Mayor Paul Alfrey announced yesterday that fencing will be installed under the Apollo Boulevard bridge in Eau Gallie. That's after the city removed over three thousand pounds of trash that had been accumulating for two months. Alfrey praised the cleanup efforts and wrote on Facebook we'll continue to clean up our city for our residents.
Brevard Zoo Releases Rehabbed Sea Turtle
(Cocoa Beach, FL)-- A sea turtle is healthy enough to return to familiar waters. The Brevard Zoo yesterday released a rehabbed sea turtle named Bubba. He spent the last three months being treated at the zoo's Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Center. Thanks to the care he got, he was able to grow to almost 400 pounds before his release in Cocoa Beach at Lori Wilson Park. One woman who was there tells Fox 35 it was an exciting, wonderful thing to see.
Large Snake Left Behind In Rideshare Car
(Minneapolis, MN)-- Police came to the rescue after someone left their boa constrictor in the backseat of a rideshare vehicle in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Cops were called after the driver found the large snake in their car. A video posted to the police department's Facebook page shows an officer holding the slithery "suspect" believed to be someone's pet. They could not reach the owner. Officials said "no officers, drivers, passengers or snakes were harmed" during the incident.
