FAA Holds Meeting To Discuss Environmental Impact Of SpaceX Launches

(Cape Canaveral, FL)-- The FAA is looking at what impact future SpaceX launches may have on the environment. The federal agency held a public information meeting yesterday at Kennedy Space Center.The FAA is studying how Starship and Super Heavy launches could affect air and water quality. A Titusville resident attended the meeting because he's worried about losing oyster and clam beds. He tells News 6 he supports the space system, but there needs to be a balance.

Moody Launches New Efforts To Fight Human Trafficking

(Tampa, FL) -- The Sunshine State is stepping up its efforts to combat human trafficking. Attorney General Ashley Moody was in Tampa yesterday to launch the state's new Human Trafficking Strike Team. The group is made up of FDLE agents, as well as deputies from Hillsborough and Pasco counties. Moody took shots at President Joe Biden while highlighting the new resource. She says the strike team will fight back against transnational criminal organizations exploiting Biden's open border as a way to bring victims into the United States. Authorities are currently investigating more than 20 human trafficking cases in the state.

St. Petersburg PD Employee Arrested

(St. Petersburg, FL)-- A woman who works for the St. Petersburg Police Department is facing criminal charges. Civilian employee Robin Conyers was arrested yesterday and placed on unpaid leave. The SPPD says she accessed confidential police databases to provide information to a man who used it to commit a crime. Conyers is accused of giving Delon Walton information on the deceased owner of a car, and Walton allegedly used that info to fraudulently transfer the title of the car to his company. Walton was arrested last month. The 59-year-old Conyers is facing charges that include misuse of confidential information.   

Brevard County Man Sentenced For Murder

(Titusville, FL)-- A Brevard County man will spend decades behind bars for a deadly shooting. Titusville's Quantay Byrom was sentenced yesterday to 40 years in prison. The 25-year-old was convicted of second-degree murder for a shooting four years ago that killed a 62-year-old man. Prosecutors say Byrom and another person were shooting at a car, and a stray bullet hit the victim. 

Man Robbed Bank Day After Release From Prison

(Anaheim, CA) -- A man was released from San Quentin state prison then robbed a bank in Anaheim the very next day. That's according to federal prosecutors who have filed charges against Eric Gray. Prosecutors say Gray robbed a bank on May 8th, taking three employees hostage while claiming to have a gun. After his arrest, police found cash and drugs hidden inside his body. Gray is also accused of trying to escape after being taken to a hospital and fighting officers, leaving several of them injured. Gray is facing up to 20 years in federal prison, if convicted as charged.

12-Year-Old Prodigy Heading To NYU

(Malverne, NY)-- A 12-year-old from New York is heading to college. Suborno Isaac Bari, who attends Malverne High School and is top of his class, will be attending New York University. He's been lecturing at universities since he's been seven-years-old and says he does mathematics for fun. Bari says he'd like to one day become a professor and while at college, he hopes to have "daily discourse" with the math geniuses who attend NYU.
