Wind Advisory Issued For Central Florida

(Melbourne, FL) --Strong winds could cause problems today in Central Florida. The National Weather Service has a Wind Advisory going into effect from 10:00 this morning to 8:00 tonight. Winds are expected to reach 25 miles an hour with gusts up to 40 miles an hour. The NWS warns this could cause unsecured objects to blow around, including tree limbs, and that could lead to power outages.Also, driving could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles, and drivers are advised to use extra caution.

DeSantis Signs Five Bills Aimed At Protecting Kids

(St. Petersburg, FL) -- The state of Florida is protecting kids from sexual predators. Governor Ron DeSantis was in Pinellas County yesterday, where he signed five bills into law. Several of the measures are designed to increase penalties for adults who exploit children online or who take part in other child sex crimes. Another piece of legislation, known as the "Gabby Petito Act," will require police who investigate allegations of domestic violence to undergo more assessments aimed at protecting potential victims. 

Teen Killed In Seminole County Shooting

(Sanford, FL) -- A teenager is dead after a shooting in Seminole County. Sanford Police announced yesterday a 17-year-old was shot Tuesday night at Ellen Place and Scott Drive. The SPD identified the victim as Sadarion Cosby. They say he and three others approached a parked car, shots were fired, and Cosby was shot in the stomach. Those in the car drove off. One of those with Cosby took him to a nearby home, and those in the home took him to the hospital where he passed away. Police say they're looking for a dark Kia K-5 sedan. 

Church Sues Daytona Beach For Shutting Down Food Bank

(Daytona Beach, FL)-- A church is suing the city of Daytona Beach. Seventh Day Baptist Church sued the city Tuesday after the city shut down the church's food pantry six months ago. According to the lawsuit, the city ordered the food pantry on Live Oak Ave closed because it was in a redevelopment zone. The church's lawyer, though, says this is a case of selective enforcement because there are other churches doing the same thing in redevelopment zones. The church's president tells WESH 2 News it's been heartbreaking to have to turn away people in need.      

Police Officer Shot In Training Exercise In Miami-Dade County

(Pinecrest, FL)-- A police officer is hurt after she was shot in a training exercise in Miami-Dade County. It happened yesterday afternoon in Pinecrest at the Homestead Training Center gun range on Southwest 304th Street. Pinecrest Police say she was accidentally shot in the arm. She was taken to the hospital, treated and released. She has not been identified, but Police Chief Jason Cohen says she has been with the department for four years. On Facebook, Cohen wrote she's very much looking forward to recovering and getting back to what she loves most, policing. 

Gator Found Under Car In Sarasota County

(Sarasota, FL)-- You never know where you'll find a gator this time of year. Someone in Sarasota County can attest to that after they found a gator under a car Tuesday in North Port. Police were called, the gator was relocated, and no one was hurt. Police posted a photo of the gator on social media as a reminder to keep an eye out as this is gator mating season. They also warn not to feed, harass or get too close to gators.

Pinellas County Woman Charged With DUI

(Seminole, FL) -- A Florida woman is facing DUI charges after she was spotted driving with only three tires. Police say multiple people reported a woman recklessly driving a dark gray Nissan Rogue without a passenger side front tire on Monday. Law enforcement pulled over 49-year-old Ann Keller in Seminole, who claimed she had no idea about the missing car part. Authorities say Keller failed her sobriety test and had a blood alcohol level that was twice the legal limit.

Margot Robbie "Monopoly" Movie In The Works

(Las Vegas, NV)-- Margot Robbie is working on a "Monopoly" movie. Robbie's company LuckyChap is producing a live-action feature film based on the board game. Hasbro is also on to produce the film. Lionsgate extended its rights to the board game, which according to the studio, is the world's most popular board game brand with 99-percent global awareness. The studio announced the movie at CinemaCon, an industry event in Las Vegas.
