The National Weather Service has a Wind Advisory in effect from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Winds are expected to reach up to 30 miles an hour with gusts up to 40 miles an hour. The NWS warns this could blow around unsecured objects and tree limbs, and there could be power outages as a result. Also, the winds could make driving difficult, and drivers are advised to use extra caution.
Stabbing In Brevard County
(Merritt Island, FL) -- A man is injured after he was stabbed yesterday on Merritt Island outside the Walmart near SR 520. The sheriff's office says he was taken to the hospital, but there's no word on his condition. A suspect has been detained, but no details were released.
K9 Helps Bring Down Wanted Man
(Orlando, FL) --A K9 is credited with helping take down a wanted man in Osceola County. Tampa's Walter Medina was wanted for kidnapping and torturing a woman for ten weeks in Hillsborough County. The 48-year-old was caught after a chase on I-4 ended when his van hit a raised median. FHP troopers say Medina tried to run, but K9 Rico chased and took him down biting him. The suspect was then taken into custody. 48-year-old Walter Medina is facing charges that include attempted second-degree murder.
Pensacola Offers Update On Cyberattack Investigation
(Pensacola, FL) --Pensacola continues to work diligently to address a cybersecurity incident. City officials released an update on the investigation into last month's ransomware attack.
