More Charges Filed Against Suspect In Soto's Death

(Kissimmee, FL)-- The prime suspect in Madeline Soto's death is facing more charges in Osceola County. State Attorney Andrew Bain announced yesterday he has filed 60-counts against Kissimmee's Stephan Sterns. None of the charges, though, are for the 13-year-old Soto's death. The 37-year-old Sterns is accused of molestation and sexual battery on a minor. He's also facing 40 counts of unlawful possession of materials depicting sexual performance by a child. Sterns allegedly sexually abused Soto since she was 11. She disappeared and was found dead two weeks ago. Sterns was dating Soto's mother. He's being held without bond and is due to be arraigned next month.

OCPS Announces New Attendance Policy

(Orlando, FL) -- The death of Madeline Soto is prompting a change in Orange County Public Schools. Superintendent Dr. Maria Vazquez announced yesterday a new policy going into effect next month will alert parents when a child is absent when the school day begins. This comes after 13-year-old Soto was found dead in Osceola County two weeks ago. Soto's mom says no one from the school called to tell her Madeline was absent until 6:00 that night.   

Two Brevard County Teens Killed In Shooting

(Vero Beach, FL)-- Two teenagers from Brevard County are dead after a shooting in Indian River County. It happened Monday during a vape pen sale. The sheriff's office says Melbourne's Joseph Cardella and Palm Bay's Logan Thompson met a 17-year-old to sell him three thousand dollars worth of THC vape pens. Instead, though, the buyer pulled a gun and shot the two 19-year-olds. The 17-year-old was arrested and charged with murder.  

Brightline To Add Station In Brevard County

(Cocoa, FL) -- Brevard County is getting a Brightline station. Brightline announced yesterday it plans to open a station in Cocoa as part of the Orlando to Miami route. There's no word on when the station may open. As for a location, Mayor Michael Blake says it'll be near SR 528 and US One. He also says the station represents a significant infrastructure investment, and it'll have a great economic impact on our community.

SpaceX Launch Tonight

(Cape Canaveral, FL)-- The Space Coast has a nighttime launch to look forward to. SpaceX plans to launch a Falcon 9 rocket carrying 23 Starlink satellites tonight. Liftoff at Kennedy Space Center is set for 7:29 p.m. 

Former Jags Employee Sentenced To Prison

(Jacksonville, FL) -- A former employee of the Jacksonville Jaguars will spend more than six years behind bars. Amit Patel pleaded guilty to wire fraud after stealing more than 20-million dollars from the franchise over three years. He spent most of the money on gambling and private jets. A judge sentenced to federal prison yesterday, while ordering him to pay back the money he took from the Jags. Patel will also participate in substance abuse, mental health programs, and attend Gamblers Anonymous meetings.

RFK Jr. Says Aaron Rodgers Or Jesse Ventura For Running Mate

(Washington, DC)-- Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has a short list when it comes to his running mate on the independent presidential ticket. On Tuesday, it was reported Kennedy has been in talks with NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, as well as former Minnesota governor and professional wrestler Jesse Ventura. Kennedy later confirmed the two were at the top of his list for potential running mates, and said he's been speaking with Rodgers "pretty continuously" for the past month.
