(Fort Lauderdale, FL) -- A South Florida congresswoman is speaking out about the ongoing crisis in Haiti. Democratic U.S. Representative Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick held a news conference in Fort Lauderdale yesterday calling for the country's prime minister, Ariel Henry, to resign and facilitate a transfer of power. She went on to detail plans to send American troops to help evaluate members of the U.S. embassy. Gang members have taken over two government ministries and the main airport in Port-au-Prince. The congresswoman is planning to work on a revolution this week to secure more funding aimed at preventing the violence from spilling into the United States.

NAACP Asks Black Athletes To Reconsider Attending Florida Public Colleges And Universities

(Undated) -- The NAACP wants Black student-athletes to reconsider if they're thinking of enrolling in a predominately white institution in Florida. The organization yesterday sent a letter to NCAA President Charlie Baker. NAACP leaders are protesting the state's law requiring schools to dismantle DEI policies. They write that Governor Ron DeSantis has waged war on Black America, and he has made no effort to conceal his administration's devaluation of Black America. They say their recommendation is not about politics, though. Instead, they say it's about the protection of our community, the progression of our culture, your education and your future. The State University System Board of Governors accuses the NAACP of a left-wing political attack. A spokesperson says the four-year graduation rate for Black students in Florida is above the national average.

He hung on for the win after everyone missed the Final Jeopardy clue. As for the finals, TheJeopardyFan.com has Meyer as the favorite with a 40 percent chance of winning.
