Sterns Refuses To Discuss Soto's Disappearance

(Orlando, FL) --The suspect in an Orange County teenager's disappearance isn't cooperating with investigators. Sheriff John Mina said yesterday Stephan Sterns is refusing to talk about 13-year-old Madeline Soto, and he has requested a lawyer. Soto was reported missing on Monday. Sterns is dating Soto's mom, and he's believed to be the last person who saw her alive. He originally told deputies he dropped her off about half-a-mile from Hunter's Creek Middle School in Orlando Monday morning. The 37-year-old Sterns was arrested on Wednesday for sexual battery and possession of child sexual abuse material.

Six Arrested After Altercation At Tampa School

(Tampa, FL) --Five teenagers are facing charges after a fight at a Tampa school. Police announced yesterday a total of six people were arrested at Chamberlain High School. The suspects include 40-year-old school employee Jynessa Brown. She's facing charges that include felony child abuse. Three students were also arrested, a 14-year-old, a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old, all boys. The 14-year-old is charged with a felony for having a gun on school grounds. The other two suspects are 19-year-old Stanley Louissaint and 18-year-old Jordan Ford. Neither is a student. Both are charged with felony child abuse. Police say a fight broke out in the school hallway yesterday morning. There were no serious injuries. Brown allegedly helped Louissaint and Ford get into the building. There's no word on what the fight was about, but the TPD says it was related to an off-campus disagreement.

Sarasota Police Release Transcripts Of Ziegler Interview

(Sarasota, FL)  --Transcripts show how worried Florida's GOP chairman was about the PR fallout from a sexual battery case. Sarasota Police yesterday released the transcripts from the interviews Christian Ziegler did with detectives in November. They were investigating a woman's claim that Ziegler sexually battered her in October. Ziegler was never arrested or charged, but he was removed as chair of the state GOP in January. The transcripts show Ziegler told investigators the case would have high public interest because of his role with the GOP. He said at one point, 'I'm more sensitive about the PR side, the political side, than I am about the facts.' He also told detectives 'this will be a national story,' and 'this is going to be not good.'
