(Tallahassee, FL) -- A Florida bill cracking down on drivers from cruising in the left lane is heading to the governor's desk. The measure passed its final hurdle in Tallahassee yesterday after it was unanimously approved by the full state Senate. The legislation would prevent drivers from using the far left lane of a road or highway with a speed limit of at least 65 miles-per-hour unless they are passing another car. Violators could face a fine as high as around one-hundred-sixty dollars.

DeSantis Visits Orange County To Discuss Homelessness

(Tallahassee, FL)-- A bill addressing homelessness is, at least in part, a safety issue. That's what Governor Ron DeSantis said yesterday in Orange County. He held a press conference in Lake Buena Vista to discuss a bill that would make urban camping illegal. The bill has passed committees in the House and Senate in Tallahassee, but more votes are needed before it goes to the governor. DeSantis says we cannot have a family feel unsafe just walking down the street because there's a massive homeless encampment that's intruded on day-to-day life. He adds you don't want the homeless intruding on quality of life, public safety and on business and the economy.

Tampa Man Accused Of Hacking Computers At Fox News

(Tampa, FL) -- A Tampa man is accused of hacking into the computers at Fox News. Media consultant Tim Burke, who's married to City Councilwoman Lynn Hurtak, was arrested yesterday. The 45-year-old is facing charges that include conspiracy and accessing a protected computer without authorization. Federal prosecutors say he and another person used compromised credentials to obtain video of a New York City-based multinational media company. The indictment doesn't name Fox News, but the charges refer to the date Fox News host Tucker Carlson interviewed Kanye West. Burke's lawyers says Fox News initiated the complaint against their client. Burke and another person allegedly accessed video streams of the interview that weren't available to the public and posted clips of them online. Those clips showed West making anti-Semitic comments and Carlson making what prosecutors call sexist and misogynistic remarks to his staff. Burke's lawyers tell the Tampa Bay Times Burke just practiced good investigative journalism.

FPL Shuts Off Power At Seminole County Mall

(Sanford, FL) -- An overnight check should get the lights turned on at a Seminole County mall. FPL cut off the power yesterday morning at Seminole Towne Center Mall in Sanford. The mall's owners were apparently behind on their electric bills. The mall's common areas, parking lot and hallways had no electricity and were closed, but stores that pay for electricity themselves were able to open. A Sanford official tells Spectrum News 13 the mall's owners have sent FPL a check so all businesses can reopen.

Cellular Outages Hit Thousands Nationwide

(Undated) -- An investigation into Thursday's cell phone outages is looking into whether or not it's part of a cyberattack. AT&T cell phone service was fully restored after being out for most of the day.  Reports say the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and other agencies are looking into if the cause is a cyberattack or just technical difficulties. Outages were reported in major cities such as Houston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and Atlanta. T-Mobile and Verizon customers also reported issues, but the carriers said their networks did not experience outages and the problems were most likely caused their customers trying to contact AT&T customers.

Lunar Lander Touches Down

(Houston, TX) -- The first U.S. moon landing since 1972 is successful. Houston-based Intuitive Machines guided its Odysseus lander onto the moon Thursday. The lander will collect data needed by NASA, which is planning to land near the moon's south pole later this decade. It marks the first touchdown by a U.S.-built spacecraft since the Apollo 17 mission in 1972.Odysseus is expected to spend roughly a week gathering data before it loses power.
