Florida Lawmakers To Release Spending Plans Tomorrow

(Tallahassee, FL) -- Florida lawmakers are expected to release their state spending plans today. The proposals will come from the Senate and House, who have filed thousands of requests on how they want the money to be used. Governor Ron DeSantis introduced his more than one-hundred-billion-dollar budget proposal last month. The largest amount of money is going toward education, healthcare, and economic development. 

Orange County Deputy Arrested

(Orlando, FL) -- An Orange County deputy is facing what the sheriff calls extremely serious criminal allegations in Volusia County. Orange County Sheriff John Mina announced yesterday that Tristan Chattic was arrested Wednesday for aggravated child abuse. He has since been relieved of duty without pay. The 39-year-old DeBary resident has been with the department for almost nine years. Mina says he has a zero tolerance policy toward child abuse or any form of domestic violence. 

UCF Student Arrested For Threatening Jewish Students

(Orlando, FL) -- A University of Central Florida student is accused of threatening Jewish students. UCF Police say Seif Asi directed death threats at three students this week as they were planting small Israeli flags in the ground on Aquarius Agora Drive. The flags were meant to represent those killed by Hamas since October 7th.Police say the 21-year-old told the students 'I'm going to kill you.' He's charged with intimidation and making credible threats to a person wearing a religious item. One of the alleged victims is from Israel, and he tells the Orlando Sentinel it does not feel safe to stay here.     

Missing Woman Found Dead In Brevard County

(Titusville, FL)-- The search for a missing Brevard County woman came to a sad end. Sheriff Wayne Ivey announced yesterday that Amber Estep was found dead last week in Mims. Her body was found a day after the 39-year-old was reported missing by her mother. No cause of death was revealed. Deputies say they questioned her husband, and hours later, his truck caught fire in Port St. John. There's no word on how the fire started.        

Teen Stabbed In Miami-Dade County

(North Miami Beach, FL)-- A teenager is hurt after a stabbing at a school in Miami-Dade County.It happened yesterday afternoon during a fight between ninth graders at North Miami Beach Senior High School.Police say the victim was stabbed in the chest, but no weapon was recovered, and no arrest has been announced. The victim was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.  

Tampa Amazon Driver Arrested For Stealing Customer's Dog

(Spring Hill, FL)-- A Hernando County woman's story could be a warning for other pet owners. The Spring Hill resident had her French bulldog stolen last month after it escaped from her yard. The alleged thief turned out to be a Tampa man who had just delivered a package to her home for Amazon. Deputies charged 34-year-old Reinier Revilla with grand theft. Pet detective Susan Long told 10 Tampa Bay French bulldogs are a popular breed for thieves, who try to sell them to backyard breeders.

New Camera Records In Animal Vision

(London) -- A new camera has been invented that allows people to see the world through animal vision. According to a report out this week, a team of British and American scientists have come up with a camera that records video in four colors including ultraviolet, which is outside the range of human perception but can be seen by birds. The camera then turns the data into "perceivable units" for different animals, based on what is known about the animals' photo receptors. The researchers have also released videos on social media that demonstrate animal vision, like how a bird might see a butterfly, or how a mouse might see a rainbow.
