Deadly Shooting In Brevard County
(Palm Bay, FL)-- Three people are dead and two others are hurt after a shooting in Palm Bay.It happened Saturday at the Woodlake Village Apartments. Police say 26-year-old Ta'Shawn Taylor allegedly shot all five victims in a domestic dispute. The victims who died were a 31-year-old woman, a 60-year-old woman and a 79-year-old man. A 15-year-old survived but is in critical condition. A 59-year-old man also survived, but there's no word on his condition. Taylor is charged with premeditated first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. There's no word on the motive.
Man Stabbed In Orlando Over Puppy Sale
(Orlando, FL) -- A puppy sale appeared to be a factor in a stabbing in Orlando. Police yesterday arrested Jarmin McLemore for allegedly stabbing a man Saturday in the area of Pine Street and Orange Ave. The victim was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. The OPD says the two were reportedly arguing over the sale of a puppy when McLemore allegedly stabbed the victim. The 28-year-old McLemore is charged with aggravated battery with great bodily harm.
Car Crashes Into Clearwater Businesses
(Clearwater, FL)-- Alcohol is suspected in a crash involving two businesses in Pinellas County. The city of Clearwater announced yesterday that a car hit a dentist's office and Skyline Chili on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard. Both buildings were empty, and no one was hurt. A 22-year-old Clearwater woman driving the car is charged with DUI.
Supporters React To DeSantis Announcement
(Undated) -- Governor DeSantis announced yesterday he's suspending his presidential campaign. Delray Beach State Rep. Mike Caruso says he was rather surprised, and he thought DeSantis had a good chance to move on in the election and win some votes. He points out that President Biden finished fifth in New Hampshire in 2020 and came back to win the election, and he would have liked to see DeSantis stay in a little longer. Lighthouse Point State Rep. Chip LaMarca says he's proud of the work DeSantis did, but he says DeSantis is doing the right thing because there's not necessarily a path forward for him. Both Caruso and LaMarca tell the South Florida Sun Sentinel that, like DeSantis, they'll be supporting Donald Trump for president.
Man Busted At JFK Airport With Cocaine Hidden In Bags Of Shrimp
(Queens, NY) -- A man was arrested at JFK Airport in Queens after authorities find cocaine hidden in bags of shrimp inside his suitcases. ABC-7 reports that after Zacharie Scott arrived on an American Airlines flight from Guyana on Friday, Customs and Border Protection officers discovered about 40 pounds of cocaine inside multiple brick-shaped packages hidden among frozen jumbo shrimp sealed in plastic bags. Scott, an American citizen who lives in Guyana, reportedly told investigators he was paid about five-thousand dollars to transport the drugs. He's now facing up to 20 years in prison.
