Suspect At Large Following Botched Armed Robbery At W. Melbourne Walmart
(West Melbourne, FL)-- A suspect remains at large after he walked into a Florida Walmart on Saturday and tried to make off with some bills from a cash register. Police say the white male suspect entered the Walmart at 845 Palm Bay Driver shortly after 10:30 a.m. before he reportedly attempted the alleged armed robbery. Officials say video footage taken moments after the incident show the suspect leaving the store wearing black athletic apparel, white athletic shoes and a Nike cap. No injuries were reported.
Reward Grows For Central Florida Mall Shooting Suspect
(Ocala, FL) -- The reward is growing for information on a man wanted in connection with a deadly Christmas weekend shooting inside a Central Florida mall. Ocala Police are looking for Albert Shell, Jr. He's suspected of opening fire inside the Paddock Mall on December 23rd, killing a man and injuring a woman. The reward has been increased to 20-thousand dollars for tips leading to his arrest.
Equality Florida Calling Lawmakers Proposed Bill An Attack On Trans-People
(Jacksonville, FL) -- A political advocacy group is calling a Jacksonville lawmaker's proposed bill an "attack" on transgender people. Republican Representative Dean Black filed the proposed legislation "What Is A Woman Act" last week, which aims to replace the word "gender" and "sex" on state legal documents. Equality Florida said its members are prepared to fight the bill at the capitol this legislation session. The bill would also require state agencies to revoke any identification card that doesn't match with a person's sex on their birth certificate. Black is standing by his proposed bill while LGBTQ plus groups say this is not surprising.
Man Arrested For Setting Car On Fire In Brevard County
(West Melbourne, FL)-- A man is accused of setting an SUV on fire in Brevard County. The sheriff's office announced yesterday that Peter Simpson was arrested for second-degree arson and other charges. Deputies say they saw him set an SUV on fire outside a hotel and then drive off, speeding towards Highway 192.Simpson was pulled over and arrested without incident. There's no word on a motive.
Clearwater Police Officer Arrested In Pasco County
(Clearwater, FL) -- A Clearwater Police officer is facing what his boss calls a disturbing allegation. CPD Chief Eric Gandy announced yesterday that Officer Brian Tejera was arrested in Pasco County for aggravated stalking. He's accused of threatening his girlfriend and her family. Gandy says Tejera was placed on administrative leave, and an internal investigation is underway. Tejera has been with the CPD since 2007.
Two Teens Arrested After Chase With HillsCo Deputies
(Tampa, FL) -- Two teenagers are facing charges after a chase with deputies in Hillsborough County. The sheriff's office announced yesterday the chase started when deputies were investigating a report that two people were breaking into cars in an apartment complex. Deputies say two 17-year-olds were seen leaving the complex in a stolen car, and officers tried pulling them over, but the teens intentionally hit a patrol car and took off. That led to a chase on I-4 east into Osceola County. The chase ended in Kissimmee when the teens tried to run away on foot. The teens were found, though, and arrested. No one was hurt.

This comes after a large fight involving 50 juveniles drew a heavy police presence to the area Monday night. Officer Michael Vega with Miami Police is reiterating that there were no aliens, UFOs or ETs. No airports were closed and no power outages occurred.
