Deputies Evacuate Goldenrod Homes To Detonate Pipe Bombs

(Seminole County, FL)-- Seminole County Sheriff's deputies said they evacuated five homes in the Goldenrod neighborhood Friday morning so they could detonate pipe bombs found during a drug search. Investigators came across the explosive devices Thursday while serving a search warrant at a home on Alena Court near State Road 436 and Howell Branch Road. While searching for drugs, which they found, they came across an apparent pipe bomb and other explosive materials. The homeowner admitted making what he called "pyrotechnic material." He was arrested on charges of possessing and manufacturing explosives and possessing and selling methamphetamine and MDMA.C

Juvenile Suffers Non-Life-Threatening Injury Following Saturday Shooting In Titusville

(Titusville, FL)-- A minor is hospitalized following yesterday's shooting in Titusville. Law enforcement sources say officers were dispatched to a home in the eleven-hundred block of 4th Avenue shortly before 10 a.m., arriving to find what police described as a juvenile with a gunshot wound. The youth was transported to a nearby hospital with "serious, but not life threatening" injuries. No charges were announced.  

Ocala Officials Search for Suspect in Early Morning Shooting

(Ocala, FL) -- Officials in Ocala are searching for a suspect in a shooting yesterday morning that two people injured -- including a Marion County sheriff's deputy. The shooting occurred near the Shores Plaza strip mall. Authorities say someone opened fire after a nightclub closed with about one-hundred people still in the parking lot. Both the sheriff's deputy and the other person who were shot were taken to a hospital. Both are expected to make a full recovery.  

No One Injured After Shots Fired Near Middleburg Parade Route 

(Middleburg, FL) -- A man from Middleburg is facing multiple charges for allegedly firing a gun near a Christmas parade route. The incident happened Saturday night in the 41-hundred block of County Road 218.Shortly after the shots were fired, police responded and arrested 43-year-old Douglas Moore. According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, Moore was "agitated" by the Middleburg Christmas Parade and opened fire.

Tampa Council To Decide On Curfew For Minors After Deadly Ybor City Shooting

(Tampa, FL) -- Tampa City Council is considering a curfew for minors. Local officials began talks on new regulations for juveniles following the Halloween weekend shooting in Ybor City that left two people dead and another 16 hurt. If passed, the curfew would require residents age 16 and younger to be home by 11:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and by midnight Friday through Sunday. The council is expected to vote on the proposal during their meeting on the 21st.

SpaceX Secret Mission for Space Force Rescheduled to Tonight

(Cape Canaveral, FL) -- The SpaceX mission for the U.S. Space Force that was scheduled last night has been rescheduled to tonight due to weather conditions. The company says its Falcon Heavy rocket will help the U.S. Space Force with the launch of its Orbital Test Vehicle from the Kennedy Space Center. The reusable military space plane will be used to analyze how it operates in varying orbits and will allow officials to experiment with future technologies. The rocket is uncrewed. 

PreSchool Teacher Accused Of Giving Sleepy Time Patches To Students

(South El Monte, CA)-- A California preschool teacher is accused of applying patches to students to make them sleepy. The parents of the three-and-four-year-old children were outraged to find out that the teacher at Options For Learning, Head Start, in the Los Angeles suburb of South El Monte, was placing the sleepy time stickers on every student and removing them before dismissal. A parent who popped into class unannounced discovered the practice. The school district says the teacher has been terminated, but parents demand more. They believe a crime punishable by jail time has been committed.
