Disney Accused Of Bribing RCID Employees
(Orlando, FL) -- Disney accuses its new local oversight board of revisionist history. Disney was responding yesterday to a report issued by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District. The report accused Disney of bribing residents in the Reedy Creek Improvement District with park passes. The RCID, which was Disney's old oversight board, would then pass Disney-friendly legislation. CFTOD Chair Martin Garcia says Disney controlled the old Reedy Creek Board through clever, creative, and inappropriate tactics for decades. Disney says the CFTOD report is neither objective nor credible. Company officials also tell WESH 2 the report only seeks to advance CFTOD's interests in its wasteful litigation that could derail investment within the district.
