You would like to think of schools as place where students are protected by the adults around them. It used to be that way and I want to believe that, largely, it still is. Yet, we have examples that are warning signs. Just who is protecting whom from what? And who is left in jeopardy because of it? We’ll begin our day there.
In a look back to yesterday’s IAH story, we’ll also get a look at AI in protecting schools from weapon wielding assailants. Are you OIK with this idea?
Governor DeSantis has released a proposed budget that contains some property insurance relief and what I believe is one big blunder. Florida Democrats have essentially cancelled the Presidential Primary for their voters. Apparently, Florida Democrats believe their voters don’t deserve a choice. Florida Republicans are considering ousting their chairman. Republican legislators are proposing tweaks to red flag laws and pronoun use mandates in the 2024 session.
The BPS book committee has started its work and is not banning books; they are properly restricting materials to age appropriate students.
