Florida GOP Chair Denies Rape Accusation

(Sarasota, FL) --The head of the Republican Party of Florida won't resign over the rape accusation he's facing. Party Chairperson and Sarasota resident Christian Ziegler sent an email this weekend to party members. He wrote that the accusation is false, and he won't let it distract him from his mission to save the country. The accusation dates back to October, but no charge has been filed, and Sarasota Police are still investigating. Governor Ron DeSantis has called for Ziegler to step down while the investigation plays out.

Orange County Sheriff Pushing New Gun Control Legislation

(Orlando, FL) --Orange County Sheriff John Mina is pushing a new gun control measure. Mina is proposing legislation that would tighten gun control requirements for people who are under risk protection orders, or RPOs. Mina wants to make it a felony for someone to give a gun to a person they know is under a risk protection order. Current law makes it illegal for someone under an RPO to buy, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition.

Deadly Shooting In Volusia County

(DeLand, FL) -- A man is dead after a shooting in Volusia County. The sheriff's office says Hector Pasquale was shot to death Saturday night in DeLand on South Massachusetts Ave. He was 50-years-old. No arrest has been announced, and there's no word on a motive.

Man Facing Charges After Barricade Situation In Broward County

(Pompano Beach, FL)-- A man is facing charges after a barricade situation in Broward County. Babel Ojeda was arrested after the situation was resolved Saturday morning in Pompano Beach on Northeast 54th Street. Neighbors tell Local 10 News the 44-year-old barricaded himself inside after a dispute that may have involved his wife and kids. He's charged with battery, false imprisonment and resisting arrest.

Adult, Child Hit By Car In Brevard County

(Melbourne, FL)-- A woman and a child are hurt after getting hit by a car in Brevard County. It happened last night in Melbourne on Dairy Road. Police say the two were hit while they were either crossing the street or getting out a of a car. They were taken to the hospital with injuries that police say could be life-threatening. No arrest has been announced, but News 6 reports police are investigating.

Search Takes Place For Missing Lake County Woman

(Mount Dora, FL)-- Loved ones aren't giving up hope of finding a missing Lake County woman. A search took place last night for Mount Dora's Nicole Baldwin. The 41-year-old mother-of-three went missing a month ago from her home in the Lancaster neighborhood on Strathmore Circle. Her daughter organized the search and a vigil that followed. She tells News 6 going on without her has been ridiculously hard. 

NYC Worst City To Drive In

(New York, NY) -- New York City is once again the worst city in America to drive in. According to a report from Circuit, New Yorkers spend an average of 236 hours in rush hour traffic every year. The city also ranked second worse for money spent on fuel because of congestion and number eight for fatal crashes. New York takes the number one spot, followed by Chicago, and Los Angeles rounds out the top three. The study also found New York and Honolulu are the worst cities to be a delivery driver.

Tool Bag Orbiting Around Earth

(Undated) -- Stargazers might start spotting another object in the night sky. A tool bag that drifted away from astronauts during a spacewalk outside of the International Space Station is now slowly orbiting around Earth. The bag is estimated to remain in orbit until spring to midsummer next year before it disintegrates above the Earth's surface. The astronomy news site EarthSky says the bag can be seen with a pair of binoculars.
