(Aventura, FL)-- A teacher at a northeast Miami-Dade County elementary school has been removed from her seventh grade classroom after allegedly making an anti-Israeli comment to Jewish students. The mother of a student in the class at Aventura Waterways K-8 Center told Local News 10 that the teacher told students to pray for Palestine as war rages in Israel and Gaza. She also reportedly called Israelis "baby killers." Aventura and the surrounding area have a large Jewish population.
1 Driver Dead, Another Hospitalized After Yesterday's Crash At Daytona Speedway
(Daytona Beach, FL)-- One driver is dead and another is hospitalized following Saturday's on-track incident at Daytona International Speedway. Although event officials declined to identify either victim, they confirmed - in a press release - that one driver had died at an as-yet undisclosed medical facility, and that the second victim was hospitalized with unspecified injuries. The crash happened during an Audi Club track-rental session. As of last night, no information had been released as to what might have caused the two drivers to crash.
Man Arrested For Pointing Gun At Off-Duty State Trooper
(Auburndale, FL)-- A Polk County man is accused of pointing a gun at a state trooper.Auburndale's Matthew Reiter was arrested yesterday. FHP says the 32-year-old was driving on SR 570 when he became agitated that traffic was moving slowly. At one point, he allegedly pulled a gun and pointed it a driver in another car. The other driver turned out to be an off-duty FHP trooper in his personal car with his family. Reiter was later arrested at his home. He's facing charges that include aggravated assault with a weapon.
Two Killed In Ybor City Shooting
(Tampa, FL)-- Two people are dead after a shooting in Tampa. It happened yesterday morning in Ybor City on East Seventh Ave.Tampa Police say a 14-year-old boy and a 22-year-old man were killed. Eighteen people were hurt. Police Chief Lee Bercaw says five of them are still in the hospital. He believes the shooting took place during an argument between two groups of people. Officers arrested 22-year-old Tyrell Phillips. He's charged with second-degree murder and is due in court today.
Man To Go On Trial For Threatening Volusia County Sheriff
(DeLand, FL)-- A man goes on trial today for allegedly threatening Volusia County's sheriff.Richard Golden was arrested seven months ago in New Jersey. The 38-year-old allegedly directed online threats at Sheriff Mike Chitwood.
Three Arrested After High-Speed Chase
(Fort Lauderdale, FL)-- Three robbery suspects are facing charges after a high-speed chase in Broward County. Dajon Reed, Caleb Reed and Horace Ellis were arrested Saturday in Davie after a chase on I-75. FHP says the men were in a car going at least 140 miles an hour before troopers used a PIT maneuver to stop them near I-595 off the Flamingo Road exit. All three are facing charges that include grand theft auto. Investigators tell 7News they believe the suspects may also be connected to a recent string of robberies.

Many homeowner associations have restrictions on how loud your Halloween sound effects may be, or how late you're allowed to frighten people. In Phoenix, Arizona there are zoning laws that prohibit decorations that are too loud or too bright. There are rules in Los Angeles against turning your home into a haunted house, and in some towns, like Irvine, California, decorations that are "too scary" can incur a 500-dollar fee. Legally in the U.S., a trick-of-treater can sue a homeowner for scaring them too much, and causing emotional stress.
