(Titusville, FL)-- A Florida man is dead following Saturday's parachuting accident in Titusville, Florida. Local police say the skydiver - whose identity was not released - was declared dead at the scene on the lawn of a home near the Arthur Dunn Airpark around 12:30 p.m. The victim reportedly was outfitted in proper parachute gear. Authorities are trying to determine why the man's chute failed to open.

Gaetz said he's exactly where he's supposed to be and doing exactly what he's supposed to be doing. Governor Ron DeSantis is in his second term and forbidden by term limits from running for a third term.
St. Johns County High School Students Arrested For School Threat Hit List
(St. Johns, FL)-- Three students at Creekside High School in St. Johns County are under arrest over a so-called "lethal hit list" targeting students. The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office said the students, two 14-year-olds and a 15-year old, shared group text messages, including photographs identifying targeted students with faces circled, aerial photos of Creekside High with an on-campus location circled, and the use of firearms. The Sheriff's Office said it considered the messages a credible threat against other students.
Florida Drivers See Gas Prices Fall

As reported by Triple-A, the average price for a gallon of regular fell in the Sunshine State to just under three dollars and 49 cents, as the national average also slipped two cents to about three-72 a gallon.Georgia posted the lowest state average at just under three-17 a gallon. Prices remained highest in California after falling four cents to five-83 a gallon.
Man Applies For Job, Commits Carjacking In Polk County
(Davenport, FL)-- A Polk County man is accused of stealing a car outside a business where he just filled out a job application. The sheriff's office says Jacob Thompson went to Pilot Travel Center on SR 60 in Bartow on Friday to ask about a job. The 23-year-old was told to come back on Monday, so he filled out a job application and left. Outside, though, he allegedly carjacked a Palm Beach County man and almost ran him over.Deputies say Thompson was speeding on I-4 West when he lost control of the SUV and crashed. He ran from the scene but was caught. Thompson is facing charges that include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The sheriff's office also says he's probably not going to make it to his job interview today.
Airbnb Renter Refuses to Leave or Pay
(Los Angeles, CA)-- A homeowner in Los Angeles is at odds with a woman who refuses to leave his guest house. The woman has been at the home for 17 months without paying rent. The homeowner tells The Los Angeles Times the woman refused to move out after her Airbnb stay ended in April of 2022, and told the man she won't leave unless he pays her a 100-thousand-dollar relocation fee.Citing Los Angeles' rent stabilization ordinance, a judge has ruled that the man has no legal reason to evict the woman at this time. According to her attorney, the woman does not have to pay rent because the city never approved the guest house for occupancy, and because its shower was built without a permit.
