Here’s a recap of the week…
BML Tuesday: The Surveillance State
We are always being watched. Whether it’s our electronic devices following our online travels or cameras in public places, there are eyes on us all the time. We know and accept this; it’s just how life is. But, when it comes to government, we have restrictions on such things. Or, do we? We’ll get there in hour-two of our Tuesday.
In hour-three, we’ll get a look at the decades long cold war with the Communist bloc as Dave Bowman takes us to its origins with DAVE DOES HISTORY.
We’ll open the day with what was always a strong community until politics came to town. The town is Nashville and it’s time the entertainers there just shut up and sing. Then there’s the start of the college football season where Florida fans were pawns in a battle between corporate giants. And, as we head into week two, fans of the college game are still being victimized.
Welcome to September!
BML: Wide Open Wednesday
…your day to make the call
On Wide Open Wednesday you get to introduce any topic you like. News, politics, sports, social issues, anything is play this one day a week. If it’s got you thinking, you’re not alone.
For my part it’s teachers unions, school districts fighting change, the impact of defunding police, attempts to keep President Trump off the ballot, a step backward for Ron DeSantis’ redistricting move and a Florida Senator accused of aggressive behavior.
It appears Johnus Disgustus Tobia’s campaign from the dais has the cooperation of the chair and newest member of the county commission and they are playing games with Supervisor of Elections Tim Bobanic’s budget. Tom Goodson has gained my respect. He sees this and calls it for what it is. The rest of this commission is the worst I have seen.
Supervisor of Elections Tim Bobanic will join us at 8am tomorrow to lay out what happened at the commission meeting and the impact for Brevard voters.
BML Thursday: Brevard Commission Playing Politics
…Supervisor of Elections Tim Bobanic
Congratulations to Moms for Liberty co-founder Tina Descovich. Tina’s been appointed to the State Commission on Ethics and I can think of nobody more suited to the job. Tina’s leadership has been evident since before Moms for Liberty became to force for families that it has become. She’ll serve Florida well in this role and the appointment is well deserved.
How secure are your firearms? Maybe they’re not as secure as you believe. We’ll find the FBI & Liberty Safe IN A HANDBASKET this morning.
What’s the top university in the country for education? For free speech? You may think they’d be the same; it would seem they’d go hand in hand. It probably does, so Harvard has some self-evaluation to do!
Georgia’s Attorney General has decided to give the state’s Democrats a taste of their own medicine. He has indicted 61 GA leftist activists under the same law used against President Trump and his allies.
Viera High is back to football. The victim in the hazing incident in their locker room is enrolled elsewhere. The parents are seeking an apology for the kid, and that’s understandable, but what is the real goal?
The real goal should be the question asked of Brevard’s County Commission after its actions on Tuesday. They have decided to micromanage the Supervisor of Elections budget with the impact to Brevard voters being significant.Florida Today has still not produced a story about the incident, but today we’ll get the scoop from Supervisor of Elections Tim Bobanic. It would appear the commission, with the exception of Tom Goodson, is colluding with Johnus Disgustus Tobia to campaign from the dais and try and unseat a fellow Republican who is excellent at his job in Bobanic to the detriment of Brevard elections and the advancement of Tobia’s political career. This may be the worst County Commission I have seen in my time in Brevard. Maybe Tina will have some things to look at in her new role because this commission can’t smell ethics from where they sit.
BML Friday: Follow-up Friday
…problems and progress
We’ll close our week catching up on stories we’ve had in play this week and previously. NASCAR and Liberty Safe have made changes to previously taken positions. That Washington State high school football coach who won his lawsuit about praying on field took a stand…until he didn’t. A Harvard professor tells us of the plight of veterans on campus. Governor DeSantis, no stranger to detractors, stood up to one in Jacksonville and laid out the truth on truth. A Brevard County prosecutor has entered a guilty plea to misconduct and his license has been suspended.
It’s a Follow-up Friday as we head into the weekend on BML.
