Moms For Liberty Co-founder Appointed To Florida Ethics Panel

(Tallahassee, FL) --The co-founder of Moms for Liberty is taking on a leadership role for the state of Florida. Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Tina Descovich to the Florida Commission of Ethics yesterday morning. She previously served on the Brevard County School board before founding the parents' rights group two years ago. The decision will now head to the state Senate for final approval.

Shots Fired Near Bus Stop In Brevard County

(Titusville, FL)-- An investigation is underway after shots were fired near a bus stop in Brevard County. It happened yesterday afternoon in Titusville at Sisson Road and Little League Lane.Police say a woman in a car fired a handgun at a school bus just after students got off. No one was hurt, and no arrest has been announced. 

Worrell Sues DeSantis Over Removal From Office

(Orlando, FL)-- A Central Florida prosecutor is suing the governor to get her job back.Former Orange-Osceola State Attorney Monique Worrell filed a lawsuit yesterday against Governor Ron DeSantis.He suspended Worrell last month for dereliction of duty. He claims Worrell was too soft on crimes involving guns, drugs and minors.Worrell, though, says DeSantis never cited a specific example to back his claim. She wants to be reinstated and given back pay. DeSantis has not responded to the lawsuit.

State Attorney Bain Discusses First Month In Office

(Orlando, FL)-- Monique Worrell's replacement believes he's close to fulfilling one of his main goals. Orange-Osceola State Attorney Andrew Bain took office about a month ago after Governor Ron DeSantis suspended Worrell. Bain says he wanted to focus on rebuilding public trust, and he believes he has made a lot of gains by wiping the slate clean of things that were going on before. One of DeSantis' criticisms of Worrell was that she was soft on violent crime. Bain tells Fox 35 News it doesn't make sense to have a society where violent offenders are free to roam and free to avoid consequences.   

Local Meteorologist Discusses Hurricane Lee

(Miami, FL)-- A hurricane is forming in the Atlantic, but there could be good news for Florida. The storm named Lee became a hurricane yesterday, and it could become a Category Four tomorrow.Ivan Cabrera is chief meteorologist at CBS News Miami, and he says we're unlikely to get a direct hit. Cabrera says there are no current models that show the storm as a threat to Florida, and the storm is expected at some point to move north. 

Human Skull Found In Goodwill Donations

(Goodyear, AZ)-- New details are coming to light after a human skull was found in a Goodwill donation box in Arizona. Police in Goodyear say that after consulting with the Medical Examiner's Office, it looks like the skull is "historic." Authorities noted that at this time, there doesn't seem to be any crime associated with it. The skull was found on Tuesday and an investigation is ongoing.
