Video Captures Alleged Hazing Incident In Brevard County School

(Viera, FL) -- Hazing allegations are being investigated at a school in Brevard County. Superintendent Mark Rendell announced yesterday the investigation involves the Viera High School football team. The video of the incident reportedly took place in a locker room at the school. It's not clear when the video was recorded. It's just over 40 seconds long, and it shows students simulating sex acts on two players. Some players are cheering and laughing in the video. One internet site reports the victims are two freshmen and that coaches were right outside in the hallway. All team activities have been suspended until further notice, and varsity head coach Shane Staples has been relieved of his duties until further notice.Some local web sites report Staples has been fired. Rendell also says all players will have to take part in an anti-hazing educational program before the team can be reinstated. He expects a decision on the upcoming season to be made soon. Rendell adds hazing, bullying and intimidation have no place in Brevard Public Schools.

Jacksonville Police Shoot Armed Teen Who Shot Into High School Football Crowd

(Jacksonville, FL)-- Jacksonville police shot at a teenager they say fired shots into a crowd leaving a high school football game Friday night. It happened after the game between First Coast and Ribault high schools was called off in the third quarter when fights broke out inside the stadium.Police say an officer fired at the teen around 9 p.m. on the perimeter of the First Coast campus. The teen was taken to the hospital with a bullet graze to his head and a gunshot wound to his lower torso.

20 Injured When Car Plows Into Broward County Restaurant

(Plantation, FL)-- Twenty people were injured when a car plowed into a Broward County restaurant Friday evening. It happened around 6:30 p.m. when a woman driving a Nissan Altima blasted through the window at Thai Meal on West Sunrise Boulevard in Plantation. A dozen people, including two pregnant women were rushed to the hospital. A Plantation Fire Rescue spokesman said the woman apparently was trying to park the car "and somehow crashed into the building."

Search For Missing Plane Underway

(Fort Lauderdale, FL)-- A search is underway after a plane went missing. The Coast Guard sad yesterday a Cessna 402 that took off Saturday from Fort Lauderdale was last seen 17 miles west of Eleuthera [[ uh-LOO-the-ruh ]] Island in the Bahamas. The plane may have gone down. One person was onboard. The Coast Guard and the Royal Bahamas Defence Force are conducting the search.

Bots Can Solve CAPTCHA Tests

(Irvine, CA)-- Bots are apparently better at solving CAPTCHA tests than humans. The puzzles that require a person to pick certain images before accessing a website are supposedly a method to prove a user is really a human. A study out of the University of California Irvine pitted people against bots specifically programed to solve CAPTCHA tests and it turns out, the bots came out on top.

Fox News Dumps Doorbell Sound Ahead Of Republican Primary Debate

(New York, NY)-- Fox News is getting rid of the doorbell sound it used to use during debates when a speaker's time is up. This comes just before the first Republican primary debate in Milwaukee and reportedly spurred on because of complaints from dog owners who said it bothered their pets. Fox confirmed the change to The Hill last week.
