Here’s a recap of the week…

BML Monday: Lessons Learned?

…just maybe

Today we look at reversals. We closed last week with a couple of news stories where digging in kept compromise from happening. It’s interesting to see what can happen when a discussion is had instead of posturing.

The M4L event in Huntsville, AL was held in the library that had scheduled, cancelled and then rescheduled the event.

The Florida Department of Education started listening, it seems. Those AP psychology courses will be allowed in our high schools.

In New York mayhem happened. It started over a social media personality promising a giveaway of a gaming platform. Thousands showed up to the park and violence ensued. The guy knew how to draw a crowd. He also got arrested.

I had noticed that my new dishwasher took much longer than the old to wash the dishes. And while I didn’t spend a lot of time thinking about it, it did seem odd that newer technology would slow the process down. Now I see the reason- Joe Biden.

Welcome to our talk week.

BML Tuesday: Danger in the Sky

…and on the ground

Our day begins with dangers in the sky. IN A HANDBASKET we’ll explore our behavior while traveling. It seems every week we will see a story about a passenger misbehaving while flying. One analyst thinks he knows why, but I am not convinced. What are you seeing when you travel?

We’ll go biblical for a bit as we deal with leprosy in Florida and alms for the poor in Brevard.

Today, if you are opposed to certain agendas in play, you are labeled a hater. But who’s acting out on hate and who’s trying to handle things the right way?

We had two cops shot in Orlando Friday night. The shooter was later killed by SWAT officers trying to apprehend him. The big question is- why was he out of jail in the first place? Why aren’t we treating crime seriously?

Ohio has a big election today as protecting their constitution from activists is the goal.

BML:WIDE OPEN WEDNESDAY

…well?

It’s the one day a week you can bring up anything you like when you call the show. What is it that has you thinking this morning? We’ll kick it around when you lay it on us during the show.

For me it’s customer service. I’m thinking it’s not about service at all! Then there is a story about cops gone bad; but why have they gone bad? Could it be the system they are working in that tracks unimportant things? Remember the NYC riot over a Play Station give away that may or may not have been real? One mom says it’s not her little thug’s fault he hit a cop. The fault is yours! A racist teacher has been fired in Texas. Our schools and the Florida Legislature have no common sense. We are overreacting to the abnormals in society and we look stupid for doing it. The governor has had a shake-up in his presidential campaign staff. Is DeSantis’ campaign dying? We talk a lot about the constitution, both the federal and state versions. Are we interested in protecting those documents? Not as much as we’d like to think. Ohio just proved that.

Whether it’s one of those or something else, it’s your day on BML. What’s it going to be?

BML Thursday: Suspension, Denial & Debate

…do we really value our Constitutions?

Just how much responsibility does a company have to its shareholders? Not every business decision is a good one. Is investing a gamble or is there some certainty that good decisions will be made, and penalty if decisions are bad? NASCAR and Target are IN A HANDBASKET for that very reason.

Does America (or Florida for that matter) value our form of government and our constitutions? I would argue we don’t and Ohio provides the latest example.

Governor DeSantis has suspended the Orange/Osceola State Attorney Monique Worrell and appointed a sub for the job. Worrell isn’t happy and she’s sounding off proudly about her actions.

It seems the old dog that is the Brevard County Commission has learned a new trick. It can now say no. And like the dog who realizes there is a reward for performing a new stunt, it has repeated the task.

Should President Trump attend the Primary debates?I’m beginning to wonder and there are those who say he has no need.

BML Friday: Second Chances

…Fentanyl in Brevard

As we head into the weekend let’s talk something that in today’s society can be hard to come by- second chances. With cancel culture being what it is and corporations clinging to ESG and DEI, one slip (whether it’s actually a slip or not) can be costly and potentially unrecoverable. We’ll begin in sport and move to government and politics. Given time, we’ll look at what one retired cop in Seattle has to say about the city’s government and policies and Oberlin College trying to recover the $36m award it was forced to pay to the bakery it actively persecuted with a false claim of racism.

The Space Coast health Foundations’ Wayne Price joins us with Suzy Pereira in our final hour. What’s the extent of the fentanyl problem in Brevard? Is there recovery from abuse? What are the dangers? Just what’s the cost?
