Gov. DeSantis Suspends Central FL Prosecutor
(Tallahassee, FL)-- A Central Florida prosecutor is off the job. Governor Ron DeSantis announced the suspension of State Attorney Monique Worrell of the 9th Judicial Circuit for "neglecting her duty to faithfully prosecute crime in her jurisdiction." DeSantis said Worrell's practices and policies have too often allowed violent criminals to escape the full consequences of their criminal conduct, "thereby endangering the innocent civilians of Orange and Osceola counties." The governor appointed former judge Andrew Bain to serve as state attorney during the suspension.
Worrell To Fight Removal
(Orlando, FL)-- Monique Worrell believes her removal is all about politics. The Orange-Osceola State Attorney was suspended yesterday by Governor Ron DeSantis, but Worrell says she'll challenge the move in court. She calls DeSantis a weak dictator and a tyrant who removes political opponents on a whim. Worrell also says the suspension is a smoke screen for DeSantis' failing and disastrous presidential campaign, and he's single-handedly destroying democracy in Florida.

Gamefowl Commission Employee Among Arrests For Cockfighting
(Oklahoma City, OK) -- Eleven people in Oklahoma City are in custody in connection to an alleged cockfighting event, including an employee of the Oklahoma Gamefowl Commission.Chance Campo has been arrested for his alleged role in the event in June. According to KFOR-TV, Campo is a district director for the commission, which aims to promote the interests of Game Fowl owners in Oklahoma. He is facing felony charges.

(Milford, CT)-- Subway is offering free sandwiches for life to someone who will change their name to Subway, and plenty of people are interested. The sandwich shop chain says over ten thousand people have submitted entries indicating a willingness to make the name change.Subway is planning to select a single winner from the pool of applicants, giving the person 50-thousand-dollars worth of gift cards. The winner will also receive 750-dollars to help cover the cost of the actual legal name change.
