Here’s a recap of the week…
BML Monday: Watch What You Say!
…The Hunter Biden Witness
Can you say what you mean anymore without offending someone? It’s less and less likely every day. There is always someone looking to be offended, and it they’re looking, they’ll find a reason. We’ll begin at the University of Colorado where the police officers there are being trained to not be offensive.
Where does all this language confusion start? It starts in our colleges, of course, where making things less clear seems to be the goal.
The judge in the Hunter Biden case has issued a directive for attorneys in the case regarding the lying that went on prior to last week’s bungled plea deal. One senator wants the lying investigated and that could be a good idea. THE WITNESS is scheduled to appear in congress today that could blow up the entire case for the Biden family.
Ron DeSantis was asked if he were elected president whether he would pardon President Trump. It’s an interesting idea.
Those stories and more are in play for the start of our talk week on BML.
BML Tuesday: The Testimony
…Bud Light Distributors see no comeback
Devon Archer’s testimony in congress was behind closed doors. That’s a tad disappointing, but it doesn’t keep details from coming out. We’ll explore what’s being said and see where it takes the entire circus of Biden family worldwide politics and corruption.
We’ll open our day with another look at the impact of Bud Light’s refusal to acknowledge the massive error they made with the brand. That apology sure would have gone a long way and after layoffs at Anheuser Busch, local distributors are saying they don’t see the brand ever coming back to prominence.
A Florida State professor is out after accusation of shoddy and biased work. The university says the damage may be Bud Light-like for the school. When agenda drives your research it isn’t research at all.
While Hollywood fawns at the box office battle between Barbie and Oppenheimer, Dave Bowman will take a look at the history of the Oppenheimer story. It begins with a letter to President Roosevelt and we’ll explore it during DAVE DOES HISTORY in today’s final hour.
BML:WIDE OPEN WEDNESDAY
…what’s it going to be?
Doctrine: a set of beliefs that, for adherents, are not to be disputed. The climate alarmists are certainly in that category. It can’t be science, for science is always questioning. Question the climate theology and you are out!
Somewhere on the other side of the scale is the Manning family. Archie, Peyton, Ely, Connor and now Arch always demonstrate graciousness and class.Arch, the grandson and nephew of NFL quarterback greats, is beginning his own career at the University of Texas.NIL is allowing the just out of high school athlete to continue the example set by his family. I’m a fan.
The latest indictment of President Trump comes as no surprise. Isn’t it sad that our discussion of America’s politics will revolve around the courts and just how bad Washington has become? Can this latest event stop President Trump from attaining the office once again? And on the congressional hearing front, I have to agree with the desires of one Democrat. Release the transcript of the closed room hearing and let us see it without the spin.
And here in the Sunshine State, The board overseeing Disney property has mandated that DEI initiatives be stopped in their tracks.I like the idea, but is it government’s role?
Those things are on my mind today, but it’s WIDE OPEN WEDNESDAY. What’s got you thinking?
BML Thursday: Incorporate Merritt Island?
…Rep. Tyler Sirois
Representative Tyler Sirois has been asked to support the incorporation of Merritt Island. He’ll be with us in today’s 8am hour to discuss the idea and let you weigh in on the prospect. Are there benefits to be had or only higher taxes and power for some?
Our day begins IN A HANDBASKET where a cop in Oregon has been charged with a crime when she was in a fight for her life. The story involves a brawl with a bad guy, a Taser and the bad guy’s genitals. Has political sensitivity now put cops in jeopardy? Are there rules in a street fight? Are there taboos?
Does a recent country hit contain coded language to engage Trump supporters? That’s the allegation of academia when it comes to Jason Aldean’s “Try That is a Small Town.” OK, Trumpsters, is that you?
Is President Trump’s lead in the primary polls insurmountable? Is it?
Ron DeSantis has released his economic plan for the country. Will it help his position? He has said yes to debating California Governor Gavin Newsom.
Let’s see what a Thursday has in store.
BML Friday: Meet Your Speech Masters
…controlling you
Our friend Dave Bowman says he’s a free speech radical. We need more Daves. There are those all around us who would like to control what we say and the ideas we share with each other. The whole idea of the first amendment is to allow for disagreement and discussion. How else do we learn if we don’t allow for ideas we had not considered to be in play?
Our day begins in the college classroom where teaching the facts of science resulted in the termination of the professor. This is because of the gender social agenda that’s gripping America today.
We’ll move on to social media and the government’s desire to control the information available to us and therefore the discussion we have. Then, there are politically active groups who are facing opposition at every turn and Moms for Liberty is the target. We also have a look at January 6th through the eyes of the DC Police Chief who says he was lied to and denied the opportunity to protect as his department served that day.
Governor Ron DeSantis has released his economic plan for the country. The economy is a major concern, but will the plan and his record in Florida be enough to gain the support he needs to become the nominee? Also in Florida, the College Board and the state are in a battle over the gender agenda in the AP Psychology course. The state says no and the board won’t change.
Thanks for joining us on this Friday!
