The former president issued a statement yesterday after he was indicted for his alleged role in events leading up to the January 6th riot.The Palm Beach County resident is charged with conspiracy and obstruction. Trump calls the indictment the latest corrupt chapter in the continued attempt by the "Biden Crime Family" and their "weaponized Department of Justice" to interfere with the 2024 election. He argued that the treatment of him and his supporters is reminiscent of Nazi Germany in the 1930s, the former Soviet Union and other authoritarian, dictatorial regimes.
VP Harris Speaks In Orlando

Kamala Harris was at the Orange County Convention Center yesterday, and she publicly declined Governor Ron DeSantis' invitation to debate the state's Black history curriculum. Harris says there were no redeeming qualities of slavery, and we will not accept to debate an undeniable fact. Harris was speaking at the 20th Quadrennial Convention of the Women's Missionary Society of the AME Church.
Disney's New Oversight Board Eliminates DEI Programs
(Orlando, FL) -- An oversight board appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis is eliminating diversity programs on Walt Disney World's property. Members of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District explained yesterday that they are removing all Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives. The Orlando Sentinel reports that officials believe the programs discriminated against Americans based on race and cost taxpayers millions of dollars. The board oversees current and future infrastructure projects on Disney's property.DeSantis dissolved the previous Reedy Creek district as part of an ongoing feud with Disney after the company spoke out against a new education law last year.
Department Of Education Proposed Plan To Help Students With Math
(Tallahassee, FL) -- The Florida Department of Education is working on a plan to help struggling students. Officials released a proposal designed to help kindergarten to fourth grade students who are having a difficult time understanding math.The program would create a certain criteria to determine if a student has a substantial math deficiency. If approved, the proposal would allow for an individual education plan. It's unclear if the education department is trying to implement the program before the new school year.
NASA Sets New Date For Crew-7 Launch
(Cape Canaveral, FL) -- There is a new launch date for the next crewed mission to the International Space Station from Florida's Space Coast. NASA and SpaceX are now targeting August 21st for the Crew-7 mission from the Kennedy Space Station in Cape Canaveral. The liftoff time has been moved several times due to scheduling issues involving previous launches. It’s currently scheduled for 5:23am. The mission will send four people to the ISS aboard a SpaceX Dragon capsule. As they arrive, another crew will get ready to return to Earth after arriving at the space station back in March.
Missing Volusia County Girl Found Safe In Marion County
(Ocala, FL) --A Volusia County girl is safe after she was thought to be kidnapped. An AMBER Alert was issued Monday for 14-year-old Barbora [[BARB-ruh]] Zdanska [[zuh-DAN-skuh]], but the alert was canceled yesterday after she was found unharmed in Marion County. Daytona Beach Police determined she was never kidnapped, and no crime was committed.
FL Deputy Stops Runaway Boat
(St. Petersburg, FL) -- A deputy in Florida is responsible for stopping a runaway boat over the weekend. Authorities were working with the Coast Guard to wrangle an unmanned vessel that was traveling more than 40 miles per hour on Sunday, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. The operator had fallen off the boat, causing it to continue on course without a driver. One of the deputy's was able to jump onto the vessel from his watercraft to take control of it. The sheriff's office posted a video of the rescue on social media, joking that Deputy Constant does his own stunts. The operator of the runaway boat was eventually rescued by a Good Samaritan.
