Tampa Police Rescue Two Human Trafficking Victims

(Tampa, FL)-- Two human trafficking victims are safe thanks to Tampa Police. The TPD announced yesterday that detectives rescued the two after one escaped where she was living and contacted police. The woman identified as Victim One says she met the suspect while living in Cuba, was flown to Nicaragua and crossed the border into Texas last year before being flown to Tampa. Police say she agreed to work as an exotic dancer to pay off 80-thousand dollars in debt. She told police she wasn't allowed to leave her residence except for work, but she escaped in February. After contacting police in May, investigators found a second victim living in similar circumstances. Police are looking for more victims and the suspect.    

Ramirez Undergoes Two Surgeries For Gunshot Wound

(Tampa, FL)-- Miami-Dade Police Director Freddy Ramirez is showing encouraging signs as he recovers from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Ramirez had at least two successful surgeries this week at a Tampa hospital, and Local 10 News reported yesterday that he's speaking.The 52-year-old is expected to remain in the hospital all week. Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava is expected to publicly speak about Ramirez today.

Brevard Zoo To Release Rehabbed Sea Turtle

(Indialantic, FL)-- A rehabbed sea turtle will be released back into the Atlantic Ocean today.The Brevard Zoo will release Roadhouse at James H. Nance Park in Indialantic at 10:00 this morning.Roadhouse spent 11 months at the Sea Turtle Healing Center being treated for tumors. Zoo officials say Roadhouse is now tumor free. 

NFL Pro Bowl Returning To Orlando

(Orlando, FL)-- The NFL's best will be coming to Orlando this winter. The NFL announced yesterday that the Pro Bowl Games will be held at Camping World Stadium in February. The NFL says 88 players from the AFC and NFC will compete in skills challenges and a flag football game. A league official calls Orlando a world-class destination and a favorite getaway for players and their families. 

Biden's Dog Commander Involved In Biting Incidents

(Washington, DC) -- President Joe Biden's younger dog Commander is said to have been involved in ten biting incidents at the White House and in Delaware. The U.S. Secret Service said they're concerned about their agents safety around the German Shepherd. The agency said in one incident Commander clamped down on an officer's arm and thighs in November 2022.In another incident in October, first lady Dr. Jill Biden "couldn't regain control" of Commander as he charged a member of the Secret Service's staff. The White House said the Bidens are working on training Commander after the biting incidents.

UAP Congressional Hearing Set For Wednesday

(Washington, DC)-- Congress will hold a much-anticipated hearing on UFOs Wednesday.Former U.S. intelligence official David Grusch will testify before the House Oversight Committee following his recent claims the government recovered technology of "non-human origin."He'll be joined by former Navy pilots who have reported multiple encounters unidentified aerial phenomena.Tennessee Republican Tim Burchett accused the federal government of hiding information on UFOs from Americans and Congress, and said Wednesday's hearing would focus on transparency.Lawmakers in both chambers in Congress have ramped up efforts for greater disclosures from the Pentagon.Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has pushed legislation to require the release of more information on UFOs.

Mustard Skittles Make Their Debut

(New York, NY) -- Skittles is coming out with a new flavor this summer. In honor of National Mustard Day on August 5th, mustard-flavored Skittles will be making their debut. The new flavor is in collaboration with French's yellow mustard. Fans will get to taste the new flavor at French's "Mustard Mobile" that will be making stops in Atlanta, Washington D.C. and New York City next week.
